Chapter 76 - The Act of God

[The Abyssal Academy - The Principal's Office]

The firmware crisis in Pantheon Estates had created an uproar among the multiversal elite. Terrified that their expensive dimensions would randomly lose oxygen or gravity again, the kings and warlords demanded a safety net.

Victor Thorne happily obliged, launching Pantheon Mutual Insurance. Within twenty-four hours, the billionaire homeowners had poured trillions of Tokens into the fund, purchasing premium "Comprehensive Reality Insurance" to protect their real estate.

Two days later, an unforeseen cosmic phenomenon known as a 'Mana-Flare' swept through the astral network. It was a natural disaster of multiversal proportions, slightly scorching the generic green lawns and shattering the beige windows across all ten thousand Pantheon Estates.

The Principal's Office was currently packed with holographic projections of furious clients, all waving their insurance policies.

"My beige citadel has hail damage!" Archmage Vildor yelled through the hologram. "I am filing a claim! I demand a payout from the Mutual Fund to cover the repairs!"

"The Titan Realm's summer home lost its roof!" the Titan King roared. "We paid our premiums! Distribute the funds, Tycoon!"

Victor sat comfortably behind his mahogany desk, the Tycoon's Ledger glowing softly. Seraphina stood beside him, maintaining a completely neutral expression as the screaming continued.

"I have reviewed your claims," Victor's Tycoon Aura flared, instantly muting the holographic callers. "And every single claim is hereby denied."

The outrage was instantaneous. The holograms flickered with pure, murderous rage.

"Denied?!" Vildor shrieked. "We bought Comprehensive Reality Insurance! You have to pay!"

"Please refer to Subsection 9, Paragraph 4 of your policy fine print," Victor said smoothly, leaning back in his leather chair. "Pantheon Mutual does not cover damages resulting from cosmic anomalies, astral weather, or unpreventable disasters. It is standard industry practice. We invoke the 'Act of God' exemption."

The Titan King slammed his fists together. "You cannot invoke that! A Mana-Flare is a natural weather event! It wasn't caused by a God!"

"I disagree," Victor pulled his gold pocket watch from his vest. "And under universal law, my definition is the only one that legally matters."

Victor slashed his pen across the Ledger, projecting his Q2 tax filings into the air.

"As you all know, the Pantheon Group absorbed the Vatican and is legally classified by the Astral Tribunal as a Registered Religious Non-Profit Organization," Victor smiled a cold, ruthless smile that sent a shiver through the multiverse. "Because I am the legal proprietor of the supreme religious authority, I am legally authorized to classify what constitutes an 'Act of God'."

Victor adjusted his midnight-blue cuffs.

"I hereby declare the Mana-Flare an Act of God," Victor stated with absolute, terrifying finality. "Therefore, the Pantheon Group bears zero financial liability. Your claims are denied. However, we are offering high-interest micro-loans if you need capital to fix your windows. Have a productive day."

Victor snapped his pocket watch shut, and Seraphina instantly terminated all holographic calls, leaving the multiversal elite trapped in the ultimate insurance scam.
