Chapter 40 - Chapter 40 - Miss Liang's Villa

After that, the police arrived. Grandpa Max spoke with them and explained the situation, after which the insect guy was arrested and taken away.

With everything finally settled, Ben and the others headed toward their next destination.

That's right—Miss Liang's home.

She had given them her address before they parted ways earlier.

Upon arriving at the location, they were greeted by a large gate. Security guards and watchmen stood stationed outside.

Fortunately, Miss Liang had already informed them about her guests. After confirming their identities, the guards allowed the Rustbucket to enter without any trouble.

According to Miss Liang, she lived in a small house.

However, looking at the place in front of them—

Calling it a small house would be a serious understatement.

It was a luxurious villa surrounded by a massive garden. A magnificent dragon-shaped water fountain stood proudly in front of the villa, while gardeners and servants could be seen going about their work.

A butler was already waiting outside after receiving news of their arrival.

"Welcome. Miss Liang has been expecting you."

He politely greeted them before leading the group inside.

Soon, they met Miss Liang.

After talking for a while, Grandpa Max decided to avoid the complicated topic of Ben being Big Chill.

When Miss Liang asked about her alien rescuer, Max simply explained that Big Chill was busy and would meet her again if a suitable opportunity arose.

He then introduced Ben as his grandson.

Miss Liang looked slightly disappointed upon hearing that Big Chill hadn't come.

"I see… That's a pity."

After all, she didn't even know his actual name and simply referred to him as Big Chill because she had heard Grandpa Max call him that.

However, when her gaze landed on Ben, she suddenly froze.

For a brief moment, she simply stared at him.

Then, a faint smile appeared on her lips, as though she had suddenly discovered something interesting.

Ben raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything.

Miss Liang soon led them toward the guest rooms.

"You must be tired after everything that happened today," she said. "Please, make yourselves comfortable and freshen up. I'll have the butler inform you when lunch is ready."

She smiled.

"Afterward, I'll give you all a proper tour of the villa."

Her eyes briefly lingered on Ben.

After giving him another sweet smile, she turned around and left.

The butler then stepped forward and showed everyone to their respective rooms.

Gwen and Keva were particularly excited.

"Finally, a proper bath!" Gwen said happily.

Keva immediately nodded in agreement.

The two quickly headed toward their rooms, clearly looking forward to relaxing after the exhausting day.

Grandpa Max and Ben also thanked the butler before heading toward their respective rooms.

After freshening up and taking some time to rest, Ben and the others were soon informed that lunch was ready.

They followed the butler into the dining room.

The moment they entered, Gwen and Keva couldn't help but pause.

A long dining table had been prepared for them, filled with an impressive variety of dishes.

There were delicate dim sum, freshly prepared dumplings, Peking duck, steamed fish, noodles, stir-fried vegetables, and several other traditional Chinese dishes that Ben couldn't even name. Expensive-looking ingredients and carefully arranged dishes covered nearly every part of the table.

Keva stared at the feast.

"Is this what she calls a small lunch?"

Gwen glanced at the table before looking at Keva.

"I don't think I've ever seen this much food just for lunch."

Ben silently nodded in agreement.

Miss Liang, who had been waiting for them, smiled.

"Please, don't be shy. I had the chefs prepare whatever they thought you might enjoy."

'Whatever they thought we might enjoy…' Ben repeated quietly as he looked at the enormous table.

Yeah, rich people really do live differently. Ugh—With the supplies in his inventory, it's not like he was in any position to say that.

Grandpa Max simply chuckled.

"Well, don't mind if we do."

The group soon took their seats and began eating.

The atmosphere was surprisingly relaxed. Keva quickly became interested in several of the dishes, while Gwen asked questions about the different types of food.

Even Ben had to admit that everything tasted incredible.

Miss Liang seemed genuinely happy seeing them enjoy the meal.

For her, this was the least she could do for the people who had saved her life.

---

After lunch, Miss Liang kept her promise and offered to give them a tour of the villa.

The group followed her through the enormous residence.

The villa was even larger on the inside than it had appeared from outside.

There were several spacious living rooms, beautifully decorated halls, a private library, an indoor training area, and even a large courtyard surrounded by carefully maintained gardens.

"This place is huge…" Keva muttered.

"I thought you said you lived in a small house," Gwen pointed out.

Miss Liang smiled awkwardly.

"Well… compared to some of the other properties my family owns, this one isn't particularly large."

Everyone fell silent.

Ben slowly looked around.

Rich people really are something else.

He decided that he would also make a palace for himself when he got the chance.

As they continued walking, Miss Liang began telling them about her family.

"My family has lived in Chinatown for generations," she explained. "My grandfather was one of the people who helped establish much of this community."

She stopped beside several old photographs displayed along a hallway.

"My family has always had a close relationship with the people here. Many of them have known my family for generations."

Ben and the others listened quietly.

Miss Liang looked at the old photographs for a moment before continuing.

"That's why I want to become someone who can continue helping them."

Gwen looked at her.

"What do you mean?"

Miss Liang smiled.

"I want to become a politician."

The others looked at her in surprise.

"I know politics isn't exactly the most popular profession," she continued with a small laugh. "But I believe that if someone has the ability to make a difference, they should at least try."

Her expression gradually became more serious.

"Chinatown has grown a lot over the years, but there are still many problems. People need better opportunities, safer neighborhoods, and someone who will actually listen to them."

She looked toward the city visible beyond the windows.

"My dream is to become a good leader. Someone who can help the people here and make this community even better."

For the first time since they had arrived, Miss Liang spoke without any shyness or hesitation.

There was genuine determination in her eyes.

Grandpa Max smiled approvingly.

"That's a good dream to have."

Ben looked at her thoughtfully.

Although he hadn't known her for long, he could tell that she genuinely cared about the people in Chinatown.

Well, at least her ambitions aren't just empty words.

The tour continued for a while longer before they eventually returned to their rooms to rest.

---

Before they knew it, evening arrived.

The group gathered once again for dinner.

Just like lunch, the dinner was extravagant.

The table was filled with another impressive selection of dishes, including different types of seafood, roasted meat, soups, dumplings, and various delicacies.

Keva stared at the table before slowly looking at Gwen.

"Are we seriously going to eat like this every meal?"

"I don't think I can complain about it," Gwen replied.

The group laughed and continued talking throughout dinner.

Miss Liang seemed to enjoy their company and spent much of the evening listening to their stories.

Eventually, she hesitated before looking toward Grandpa Max.

"Actually… would you all consider staying for a few more days?"

Everyone looked at her.

"The villa has plenty of rooms, and there are still many places in Chinatown that I could show you," she continued. "It would be nice to have you all stay a little longer."

There was a hopeful expression on her face.

Grandpa Max smiled apologetically.

"I appreciate the invitation, Miss Liang, but I'm afraid we'll have to continue our journey."

"Oh…"

Miss Liang's expression slightly fell.

Max continued.

"This summer vacation is the perfect opportunity for me to spend time traveling with my grandchildren. I don't want to waste too much of it staying in one place."

Gwen nodded.

"Grandpa has been planning this road trip for a while."

Miss Liang remained quiet for a moment before eventually smiling.

"I understand… It's a pity, though."

There was a hint of regret in her voice.

"Still, I'm glad you decided to visit, even if it was only for a short time."

The conversation gradually returned to lighter topics.

They continued enjoying their dinner, talking and laughing late into the evening.

Eventually, after another incredibly expensive meal, everyone began feeling tired.

It had been a long day.

After saying goodnight to Miss Liang and thanking her once again for her hospitality, Ben and the others returned to their rooms.

The villa gradually became quiet.

One by one, they settled into their beds.

And with that, their unusually eventful day in Chinatown finally came to an end.

Of course, not everyone went straight to sleep.

Inside his room, Ben suddenly received several notifications from the system.

His eyes moved toward one particular notification.

[Miss Liang's Affection has increased.]

Ben stared at the message for a moment before a mischievous smile appeared on his face.

'Well… that's interesting.'

Just as he was about to check the rest of the notifications—

Knock. Knock.

Someone knocked on his door.

Ben raised an eyebrow.

'At this hour?'

He looked toward the door, his curiosity growing.

'Now, who could that be?'

[A/N - Sorry, guys, I'm writing this after such a long time that I've forgotten a lot of the ideas I had back then about how to continue the interactions, plot, and everything else... 😭

You guys might not like how I skip the details and go straight to the R18 part, and how it seems like the system brainwashed her into accepting that Ben, who's a kid, was the alien who saved her.

But what can I really do about it, right? So let's just cope with this 😞]
