Chapter 12 - CHAPTER 11

She scanned the room for the gift Zafil had given her. Her eyes finally landed on it, resting quietly on her bedside table.

Slowly, she walked over and picked it up.

What could it be? she wondered, hoping it wasn't something unsettling.

She opened it carefully.

A beautiful diamond necklace lay inside, shimmering under the light.

Evelyn gasped, her eyes widening in pure delight.

A knock sounded at the door.

"Is everything alright?" Jane called.

"Yes," Evelyn replied quickly.

She placed the necklace gently on the bed and opened the door. Jane and Jade stepped in—and immediately froze when they saw it.

"Oh wow… that's gorgeous," Jade said, moving closer.

Jane grinned. "I'm telling you, that's wedding-day material."

"I think he's softening toward you," Jade added.

"You think so?" Evelyn asked quietly.

"Obviously. Just look at that gift."

Evelyn's expression shifted. "There's something about him I can't figure out… but he's strangely… endearing."

Her voice trailed off.

After everything that had happened, a heavy feeling settled in her chest. She knew she was playing with fire—and she needed to stop before it burned her completely.

"Evelyn… hey, snap out of it," Jane said, waving a hand in front of her.

"I know that look," Jade added. "You're scared of what you're getting into, right?"

Evelyn nodded, sighing as she slumped back onto the bed.

"Let the drama begin," she muttered, though her voice carried a hint of sadness.

Jane and Jade exchanged smiles.

"Whatever happens, we'll be right by your side," Jane said. "You're not alone in this."

They laughed softly together.

"I always thought I'd marry for love," Evelyn admitted after a pause. "Not… like this."

Jane sat beside her. "There's no turning back now. Look at where we are—you're already engaged."

"Maybe he'll love you in a way you never expected," Jade said gently.

Evelyn shook her head. "Love and duty are two completely different things."

"Maybe," Jane replied, "but sometimes they can overlap."

"Duty feels… empty," Evelyn said quietly.

Jade looked at her closely. "You're yearning."

Evelyn swallowed. "I am… but why him? Why do I have to feel this way?"

Michael sat behind the wheel, staring through the windshield as raindrops traced slow paths across the glass.

With a subtle snap of his fingers, the rain stopped.

A faint smirk touched his lips. Control—effortless, unquestioned.

It had always been this way.

But tonight, his thoughts weren't on power.

They were on Evelyn.

He exhaled slowly, his gaze darkening.

She wasn't like the others. There was something in her—confidence, defiance… something that refused to bend.

And that intrigued him.

"Zafil, dear…"

A soft voice broke through his thoughts.

A hand slid over his shoulder, lingering there as if testing his mood.

He didn't respond immediately.

Instead, his hand moved, gripping hers firmly—stopping it in place.

"Dora," he said quietly, his tone calm but edged with warning. "What have I told you about interrupting me?"

There was a pause.

Then, slowly, she withdrew her hand.

Dora stepped into view, her expression carefully composed—but her eyes revealed more. She wasn't just anyone. She was one of his wives… and one of the few bold enough to approach him like this.

"I didn't mean to upset you," she said softly. "You left me waiting."

Michael finally turned to face her.

His gaze was cold, unreadable.

"Kneel"

Then Zafil shoved his dick in her mouth without warning and moved

"You should know better than to demand my attention."

The air between them tightened.

Dora whimpered, her eyes almost bulging out of it's sockets and he withdrew as soon as it entered her slick wet mouth. There was fire in her eyes that she wanted more.

But She knew the line… and how dangerous it was to cross it.

"Yes… Zafil," she replied.

For a moment, silence lingered as she licked her lips .

Then Michael looked away again, his expression shifting back into distant focus.

"Leave."

It wasn't loud.

But it was absolute.

Dora hesitated—just for a second—before turning and walking away without another word.

The door closed softly behind her.

Michael remained still, his eyes fixed ahead.

Evelyn.

Even now, she occupied his thoughts in a way none of the others ever had.

And that…

That was a problem
