Chapter 2 - Ch 2: Plans And Preparations

Kurogane Reiji wasn't really a hardcore Terraria player. He wasn't like those who had 10,000 hours of play time on Steam.

A friend of his introduced him to Terraria, and it was a long time ago, when he played it on mobile, and the version at that time was only up to the Golem boss.

As a casual player, he only defeated Moon Lord once on Terraria Classic Mode difficulty.

"Master Mode difficulty... Sigh, I'll just deal with whatever comes my way."

"At worst, I'll just use my Lucky Fortune quirk and stockpile luck, and see if I can get a slime staff after killing a slime during the luck burst."

Kurogane Reiji has to admit that his quirk worked quite well with Terraria's loot drop mechanics. Anything that has RNG will no longer become a problem with his Lucky Fortune Quirk.

After receiving the memories for this world, Reiji realized that while the timeline of this world was already at the start of canon, it was still before the Sludge Villain Incident.

'From my estimates, today is Saturday, so I have the weekends to grind for equipment.'

'To easily get a recommendation to U.A. High School, or at least owe All Might's favor, I need to get an iron bucket and use it to deal with the Sludge Villain when Midoriya caused All Might to mess up.'

'Moreover, it's best if I somehow manage to encounter All Might and Midoriya talking about One For All quirk and whatnot, even better if I manage to snap a video of it.'

'It'll be a plus if I can capture a video of All Might becoming his emaciated Small Might true form.'

'I might rarely use it as it's quite scummy to blackmail someone like All Might, but as a nobody with no background, it's hard to do well in this hero society.'

'It's better to have that option than none at all. Who knows? I might be able to use it if I ever go vigilante or something.'

Kurogane Reiji started planning for the future as he knew he wasn't someone with connections.

Unlike Todoroki Shoto, who has a Pro Hero father, Reiji didn't have a good background since he transmigrated into this world.

The Terrarian System basically inserted him into this world and rewrote some stuff to make him fit in.

Due to that, his background was that of an orphan whose parents died in a car accident, leaving only their assets, like a house and lot, to him.

In reality, he didn't have any parents biologically since his body now was his in-game Terraria player character.

The Lucky Fortune Quirk only existed within him due to simulating what his quirk would be after his existence was integrated into the worldview of My Hero Academia.

'I can use my Lucky Fortune Quirk in a convenient way. I'll just hide it and claim that my quirk is The Terrarian.'

'Luck is illusory anyway. They can't prove that I have a luck quirk, so it's better to disguise it as The Terrarian, especially when I'll have to use my Terraria item and weapons for combat.'

Planning that far ahead, Kurogane Reiji used his quirk to start stockpiling luck.

He wasn't worried that he would miss out on Midoriya Izuku and All Might's One For All quirk conversation.

From the memories he received, it turned out that he's in the same junior high school as Midoriya Izuku and Bakugo Katsuki, which was Aldera Junior High School.

Due to his existence being inserted in this world, his past was like him on autopilot, without any memories of his past life.

It wasn't his personality to bully someone, so his "past self" never bullied Midoriya Izuku, and even beat up Bakugo Katsuki on one occasion.

'The Terrarian System had already laid the groundwork for me, as it allowed my past to wield the Terraria starting equipment, which consists of a Copper Shortsword, Copper Pickaxe, and Copper Axe.'

'Because of that, I've already registered my quirk as The Terrarian, using Lucky Fortune Quirk as a biological proof that I indeed have that quirk existing within me.'

'It wasn't mistaken as a mere Item Summoning quirk as Bakugo Katsuki's explosions didn't cause any visual damage or harm to even my clothing, so my Terrarian Physiology was already in effect way before.'

'With the system already laying the groundwork for my Terrarian background, I only need to keep up the charade and never reveal that my true quirk is Lucky Fortune.'

Kurogane Reiji knew that if he didn't have Lucky Fortune as his quirk, then it would be a lot more difficult for him to integrate into the worldview of this world.

After all, the Terrarian System doesn't leave a quirk factor in his body.

So if he pulled out items and had infinite resurrection despite being "quirkless", that would truly invite him to a lot of trouble.

After Kurogane Reiji reminisced about the memories he received, he decided to visit his Terraria World and start the grind.

With just a mental command, Reiji soon disappeared from his bedroom, teleporting to his Terraria World.

Author's Note: My problem with My Hero Academia, as I realized when writing this fanfic, is that the surnames of the characters are more well-known than their first names. For example, you can ask many MHA anime watchers, and they'll be able to know who "Bakugo" is compared to who "Katsuki" is.

Moreover, I noticed that in the official translation, they didn't use the usual name format for Japanese, which is Toga Himiko (aka, Surname, First Name), but instead, wrote it as Himiko Toga.

As for why I find this a problem, it's because I have to write Japanese names in their full name format, and I realized I'm not used to hearing it as "Todoroki Shoto" compared to "Shoto Todoroki".

Moreover, if I just write their first name, some MHA fans wouldn't be familiar with them if I just wrote them as Shoto, Katsuki, Tenya, etc.

Also, for those who are wondering what Terraria class I'll go with for the MC's build, I'll do the most popular build for new players, which is the Melee class. Melee is the most versatile, as it doesn't require ammo or mana.

The main game progression also favors melee (looking at the Zenith), so yeah.

Most Hardmode melee weapons even stopped becoming true melee and started having sword projectiles and whatnot. The armors of the melee class also have higher defense, and since the MC is not a master no-hitter, he can only tank the damage from boss fights rather than evade them.

As a Terraria player who has major skill issues and plays on mobile, Melee is great, as you can brute-force most bosses.

However, the MC isn't a class purist, as he'll also use everything at his disposal and the strongest item he has. For example, expect him to use summoning items to make use of the default 1 summon slot.

But for those who want the MC to also dabble in other classes, I plan to let him do the Summoner class if he ever becomes a Vigilante, and the Mage class for Villain (if Toga Himiko is the love interest).

But his Hero persona will have the Melee class as the main class.

Anyway, thanks for reading, and I hope I can get some powerstones. 200 powertones = 1 bonus chapter.
