CHAPTER 11: "REBELLION"
FADE IN:
INT. TENT - NIGHT Soldiers forcefully drag KEISE into the tent.
EXT. HEADQUARTERS OUTSIDE - NIGHTSETSUKO takes down soldiers one by one with her bow.
She and ERETT stand BACK TO BACK. Erett cuts down approaching soldiers.
METE KAĞAN tears apart every soldier who stands in his way.
He reaches Smonir. Swings his sword.
Smonir dodges at the last second.
SMONİR (grinning) Let's see… are you as strong as your brother?
The two men circle each other like lions.
METE KAĞAN (cold) We'll see. Are you as honorable as I am?
He attacks with his sword.
SMONİR extends MULTIPLE CHAINS from both arms.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! Sword clashes against chains.
EXT. HEADQUARTERS OUTSIDE - NIGHT (CONTINUOUS)BİLGE KAĞAN swiftly clears out soldiers.
SETSUKO (asking) My Kağan… why did you arrest Keise?
Bilge Kağan doesn't even answer.
ERETT (firm) For disobedience.
Bilge Kağan pulls a sword stuck in a dead soldier's body, shakes the blood off.
EXT. HEADQUARTERS FRONT - BATTLEFIELD - NIGHTMETE KAĞAN and SMONİR continue their clash.
SLASH!
Mete Kağan SEVERS Smonir's arm.
BAM!
He kicks Smonir in the body. Smonir is THROWN BACK.
Smonir reaches into his pocket and drinks an ELIXIR.
His arm REGROWS. But this time it's different:
Tongue elongates Eyes become narrower and longer Arm regrows SCALY
METE KAĞAN (shocked) What the hell are you?!
SMONİR (voice changed, grinning) This… is a family heirloom. And I'm very happy I get to test it on you.
Just as he's about to attack—
From the right, BİLGE KAĞAN suddenly appears.
He aims to crush Smonir's head.
Smonir TURNS HIS HEAD.
Their eyes meet.
Bilge Kağan's eyes WIDEN. For the first time, he is SURPRISED.
Smonir RETREATS.
Bilge Kağan's fist strikes empty air.
Bilge Kağan clenches his fist.
BİLGE KAĞAN (cold smile) Well done. The first one to match my speed.
INT. TENT - NIGHT Soldiers clean up corpses. Battle sounds echo from outside, but inside there is deep silence.
SETSUKO enters the tent.
KEISE is in the center of the tent, now tied to a log where he had eaten earlier. Soldiers surround him.
Setsuko enters. Keise sees her.
KEISE (whispering) Setsuko…
Just as she approaches, soldiers push her back.
KEISE (inner voice, regretful) Damn it… what have I done? I gave in to my anger. What must the Kağan and Han think of me right now? Who knows…
SCENE CHANGES.
EXT. HEADQUARTERS FRONT - NIGHTMETE KAĞAN and BİLGE KAĞAN rush forward at full speed.
SMONİR blocks them with chains.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
But blood drips from Smonir's mouth. The echo is eating him alive. With every attack, he grows weaker, more desperate.
He breathes FIRE from his mouth.
Seeing this, BİLGE KAĞAN immediately creates WATER with his sword. Mist forms in the air again.
Using the mist, SMONİRESCAPES. He disappears.
BİLGE KAĞAN (cold) Don't chase him. He's already finished.
METE KAĞAN (panting) He escaped…
BİLGE KAĞAN (wiping his sword) He escaped. But he'll come back.
FADE TO BLACK.
