CHAPTER 13: "INTERROGATION PART 2"
FADE IN:
INT. KEISE'S TENT – NIGHT The tent fills with SOLDIERS.
BİLGE KAĞAN (cold) Take them.
SETSUKO draws her bow and arrow. Shoots one of the incoming soldiers.
METE HAN (stunned) Setsuko… this won't change anything!
But Setsuko doesn't listen. She draws her bow again.
METE HAN hesitates. The rookies who saved his life? Or the headquarters? On top of that, they were the ones who betrayed him.
ERETT kills one of the approaching soldiers.
BİLGE KAĞAN (cold, drawing his sword) You asked for this.
He raises his sword. Just as he's about to kill KEISE—
METE HAN steps in front of him.
SHING! Swords clash. Sparks fly.
BİLGE KAĞAN (shocked, furious) What are you doing? Going against the Khagan?
METE HAN (determined) No. I'm not going against the Khagan. I'm saving my headquarters, my tent.
Meanwhile, KEISE was trying to create FIRE in his hands. Back in the dungeon, he had felt the flame not just in the sword, but in his hands too. Now he remembers that moment, forcing his hands.
His friends are fighting to save him. He's still chained, waiting.
Finally, FLAMES form in his hands. He begins melting the ropes.
BİLGE KAĞAN blocks Mete Han's sword.
BAM! Kicks Mete Han in the face. Grabs him by the collar and THROWS the huge man OUT OF THE TENT.
ERETT, seeing Mete Han thrown out, charges at BİLGE KAĞAN. Strikes his sword.
Bilge Kağan blocks. Erett forms a FIREBALL in his hand. Just as he's about to throw it at Bilge Kağan—
Bilge Kağan creates WATER in his sword. Blocks Erett's fireball and PUNCHES him in the face.
ERETT collapses with one hit.
BİLGE KAĞAN (panting, turning to Keise) Well done. You tired us out, Keise.
He swings his sword at Keise—
BAMMM! A FIREBALL hits him in the face.
Keise has saved himself at the last second. He has managed to create fire with his hands.
His hands are still burning. The ropes have melted. He stands up.
KEISE (panting, determined) I… am Keise. And I will NOT be prey.
BİLGE KAĞAN (bloody face, smiling) Well done. That hurt.
EXT. OUTSIDE THE TENT – NIGHTMETE HAN bursts out of the tent.
Civilians, soldiers, wounded soldiers who don't understand what's happening… everyone is stunned. The enemy attack started less than 1 hour ago.
Mete Han spits on the ground.
METE HAN (shouting) ATTACK! AT BİLGE KAĞAN!
The soldiers are shocked.
Some soldiers move, about to enter the tent—
OTHER SOLDIERS FROM THE SAME SIDE block them.
Some soldiers are loyal to BİLGE KAĞAN. Some soldiers are loyal to METE HAN.
METE HAN (shocked, inner voice) Now… I have to kill my own soldiers. Could I really do this?
There was no turning back.
INT. KEISE'S TENT – NIGHTKEISE creates FLAMES with his hands and sends them at Bilge Kağan.
BİLGE KAĞAN creates flames with one hand.
In the middle of the tent, MASSIVE FLAMES that melt everything clash against each other.
The tent begins to BURN.
BİLGE KAĞAN (cold) Keise… accept it. You won't get out of here alive either.
The flames press harder. Keise's flames begin to fade.
Just as the flames close in—
SHING! An ARROW pierces the Khagan's flame-throwing hand. Right through the center.
SETSUKO has shot the Khagan's hand.
BİLGE KAĞAN (hand wounded, furious) Ahhh… you bastards!
He turns left. ERETT is no longer where he fainted.
At that moment, he feels a HEAVY WEIGHT on his back.
ERETT slams the hilt of his sword into BİLGE KAĞAN'S EYE.
His foot catches on the pouch hanging from the Khagan's belt. The pouch TEARS OPEN.
Gold and STONES pour out.
BİLGE KAĞAN (furious) You…
He grabs Erett from behind and SLAMS him to the ground. Raises his foot to crush Erett's head—
KEISE throws the sword he picked up from the ground.
SETSUKO shoots an arrow.
Bilge Kağan dodges both.
ERETT opens his eyes on the ground. The STONE that fell from Bilge Kağan is right there.
ERETT (inner voice) Ada… stone… maybe that's what Bilge Kağan was talking about.
He didn't know. But trying was the only option left.
While KEISE and SETSUKO fight Bilge Kağan, ERETT picks up the stone.
ERETT (shouting) KHAGAN!
Bilge Kağan STOPS.
EXT. OUTSIDE THE TENT – NIGHTMETE HAN is killing his own soldiers.
He kills one soldier. The soldier's last words as he dies:
SOLDIER (last breath) You… will never be like Mete Han.
Mete Han's face tightens. He quickly enters the tent.
INT. KEISE'S TENT – NIGHT The tent is FULL OF BLOOD.
When he enters:
ERETT holding the STONE BİLGE KAĞAN frozen, showing FEAR for the first time KEISE and SETSUKO wounded
FADE TO BLACK.
