Chapter 91 - Chapter 92 . Umaru's Big Crisis!

  Chapter 92 . Umaru's Big Crisis!

"Who's this behind you?" Lynn asked knowingly.

Hagrid turned around and pulled Harry in front of him, introducing him.

"Harry Potter, a first-year student this year. His situation is a bit special; Dumbledore specifically asked me to bring him to Diagon Alley to buy school supplies. Harry, this is Lynn Belloc, a second-year Slytherin wizard, and also the best student in his year."

Lynn noticed the boy's slight shyness and took the initiative to greet him, "Hello, can I call you Harry? You can just call me Lynn."

  "Of course."

Harry quickly extended his hand to shake Lynn's. This was the first wizard he had met who didn't yell at him and behaved normally, and was also a senior at Hogwarts, and according to Hagrid's introduction, the best in his year.

Before even learning what Slytherin was, and before meeting Draco and Snape, his first impression of Lynn was very good.

Lynn patted Hermione's shoulder at the same time.

"I'm here with a first-year student to buy things too. This is my neighbor and friend, Hermione Granger. She also received her Hogwarts acceptance letter this year. You two might even be sorted into the same house."

He winked at Hermione and suddenly smiled. The little girl didn't understand what mischief he was up to, glared at him, and then greeted Harry.

"Hello, you can call me Hermione."

  "Hello, Hermione."

Hagrid pushed Harry forward, urging him on.

"Alright, we have to go now. There's still a lot to buy. We can talk about anything else at Hogwarts later, then you can see each other every day."

After waving goodbye to Harry and Hagrid, Hermione stared intently at Lynn and demanded,

  "What were you laughing at?"

Lynn looked innocent. "I wasn't laughing at anything."

"Hmph, you're definitely plotting something again!"

"How could you think that about me? Give me some trust, Hermione, I'm a good person."

  "Pah! Liar! Bad guy!"

  ...

They spent the whole day shopping in Diagon Alley. Besides buying Hermione all her school supplies, Lynn also bought himself a new pet, an owl.

Umaru couldn't continue being a pet; she only wanted to eat meat and couldn't do anything else, except be cute and act as a mascot. Lynn treated her like a daughter.

Professor Fawkes would be traveling all over the world, and if he had any questions, he'd have to send a letter, so an owl was perfect.

Hermione didn't buy a pet; her parents didn't approve. But she bought many spellbooks of all kinds, and Lynn chose one as a gift for her.

"Hogwarts: A History of the School? Is this a popular science book?" Hermione asked doubtfully, looking at the thick, brick-like book Lynn had given her.

Lynn shook his head. "Maybe, because I haven't read it myself, so I'm not really sure, but I think you'll need it."

  "Just a bad feeling."

Although she said that, she actually held the book tightly in her arms, not planning to have it mailed by the bookstore's owl, but to take it home directly.

  They got home before dark.

As soon as Lynn arrived home, Kira was already waiting for him at the door.

  "Welcome back, Master."

Even after all these days, he still wasn't quite used to Kira's respectful attitude, but there was nothing he could do about it; it was the innate nature of house-elves, and he couldn't change it.

After responding to Kira's greeting, Lynn walked through the living room and went straight into the study.

Seeing that he was still carrying an owl, Umaru, who had been happily lying on the sofa watching TV, suddenly felt a sense of crisis.

While Kira was busy preparing lunch in the kitchen, she sneaked out of the study.

Lynn was about to use his newly bought owl to mail the letter he had written to Professor Fox when he saw a fluffy white ball of fur peeking around the doorway.

  "What are you looking at?"

Umaru clung to the doorframe, peeking out with her head and pointing at Lynn's new pet.

  "What's that?"

"An owl? Don't tell me you've never seen one before."

"What did you buy it for? To make soup?"

"What else could you possibly know besides eating? I'm a wizard, of course I bought it to be a pet for mailing letters."

  "Don't you already have me?!"

  Umaru demanded loudly.

Lynn looked at her strangely: "You're not a pet."

As soon as he said this, the little girl's eyes filled with tears.

"Are you planning to throw me away, Lynn? Is it because I eat too much that you're kicking me out of the house? Fine, I'll only eat meat once every three days, and I'll reduce my TV time by one—no, two hours! I'll even help Kira with chores! Please don't throw me away, okay? I don't want to be a beggar! Waaaaah…"

As she spoke, tears streamed down her face, and she cried like a little kitten.

Seeing how upset she was, Lynn quickly stood up, patted her head, and wiped away her tears to comfort her.

"When did I say I was going to throw you away?"

"Then why did you buy it?" she sobbed, pointing angrily at the owl.

The owl blinked, looking innocent, and tilted its head cutely when Xiaomai pointed at it.

  "It's a pet, but you're not."

"Then what am I?" Xiaomai asked, sobbing.

Lynn was speechless. This little girl had really started to think of herself as a pet after being a hamster for so long.

"You're Hamster Spy 007, the James Bond of the magical world, Kira's Sophia Basak, and my cousin Umaru. Being a pet was just a cover you used when you were a spy, not the real one."

"Not the real one?" Umaru asked, wiping away her tears.

Lynn affirmed, "Of course not! If I treated you like a pet, would I let you eat meat and watch TV every day? Have you forgotten what life was like when I first treated you like a pet?"

  Bread and cookie crumbs…

Umaru certainly wouldn't forget that painful time. She decisively wiped away her tears, her fluffy hair bobbing with her little head.

"Then I won't be a pet anymore. Let it be. From now on, I'll only be Lynn's cousin. You're not allowed to find another cousin and then kick me out!"

"A cousin isn't something you can just have whenever you want. Go watch your TV. Stop eating your snacks; Kira will be cooking soon, it's time to eat."

Lynn cheered the little girl up, smiling as she skipped away.

He hated those self-important children, but liked simple-minded ones.

  Because silly kids are fun.
