Finally, Alistair leaned back, staring at the man before him with a quiet satisfaction. "You have been useful," Alistair said quietly.
Simon glanced at him. "I hope that is your way of saying you appreciate my efforts."
"I appreciate results."
Simon leaned back as well, his expression becoming serious. "The Bexleys are becoming impatient."
At once, the mood in the room changed into something solemn. Even the crackle of the burning logs seemed to grow quieter.
Alistair's eyes narrowed slightly. "Percival?"
"Who else?" Simon rested one arm against the chair. "He wants this resolved."
"He will have his answer when I am ready to give it,"
"He believes the Andersons have no idea how close they are to losing everything."
Alistair gave a pointed look to the man before him, saying, "I believe they don't."
Simon's lips curved into a small smile. "I made sure of everything. It is proceeding as planned."
