The noise of the market slowly returned around them.
June Astral looked up at the tall man in front of her.
For a moment she studied his face. His silver eyes were calm but sharp, and his expression looked cold and unreadable.
But June simply smiled politely.
"Okay," she said lightly.
"Next time I'll be more careful."
She gave a small wave.
"Bye."
Without waiting for another response, she turned and walked away into the crowd.
Her long ponytail swayed behind her, the ribbon she bought moving gently as she walked.
A few steps later she stopped in front of a food stall.
The smell of fresh dumplings and grilled meat filled the air.
June's eyes brightened immediately.
"Ooo… that smells amazing."
She leaned slightly over the counter.
"Can I get some of those?"
The vendor laughed warmly.
"Of course!"
June happily waited for her food, completely focused on the delicious smell.

Not far away, Lucas de Hein was still standing where she had left him.
His eyes followed her figure through the crowd.
Most people in the empire would feel nervous standing near him.
But that girl…
She simply said "bye" and walked away.
Lucas's silver eyes narrowed slightly.
