Chapter 62 - CHAPTER 67: BOOM.

JAY-JAY POV

The house was too quiet.

Kuya Angelo, Tita Gema, and Aries still hadn't returned from visiting my mom's place.

After recovering from my fever, I finally had enough energy to move around the house again.

Unfortunately...

Section E had other plans.

The front door burst open.

"WE'RE HERE!" Cin yelled.

I sighed.

"...Of course you are."

Rory rushed in dramatically.

"We came to save you from loneliness!"

Felix looked exhausted.

"No. They dragged me here."

Calix and Denzel walked in carrying snacks.

Yurii greeted me with a small smile.

And then—

Keifer stepped inside.

The moment his eyes landed on me, a familiar grin appeared on his face.

"Hi, bebe."

I narrowed my eyes.

"Don't start."

"What?" he asked innocently.

"I was just saying hello."

Cin gasped.

"HE'S FLIRTING ALREADY!"

Rory pointed dramatically.

"IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN A MINUTE!"

Felix sighed.

"I need a vacation."

I picked up my towel.

"I'm going to take a bath."

Keifer's expression softened.

"You just recovered. Don't stay too long."

I blinked.

"...Did you just care about me?"

He smirked.

"Don't let it get to your head."

I rolled my eyes.

"I'll be back."

I headed upstairs while Section E turned my house into complete chaos.

Thirty minutes later...

I came back downstairs.

And everything went silent.

I was wearing a fitted black top with black shorts.

My headphones rested around my neck.

My hair was tied up in a messy bun.

Comfortable.

Simple.

Effortless.

I stopped halfway down the stairs.

"...Why is everyone staring?"

Nobody answered.

Cin blinked.

Rory blinked.

Calix blinked.

Denzel blinked.

Even Felix looked up from his phone.

"...Wow," Cin finally whispered.

Rory grabbed Felix's arm.

"SHE LOOKS LIKE THE MAIN CHARACTER."

Felix nodded once.

"She does."

Yurii looked away politely before smiling.

"You look nice."

"Thanks."

Then my eyes moved toward Keifer.

He hadn't looked away.

At all.

"...Keifer?"

Silence.

Cin looked horrified.

"OH NO."

Rory covered his mouth.

"HE STOPPED FUNCTIONING."

Keifer finally stood up.

"...You're going out dressed like that?"

I frowned.

"...I'm literally in my own house."

"...Still."

"What does that mean?"

He looked away for a second before muttering,

"...Nothing."

Cin immediately pointed.

"THAT MEANS SOMETHING!"

Rory screamed.

"THE FLIRTY KING IS JEALOUS!"

"I'm not jealous."

"You absolutely are," Denzel said.

Keifer looked at me again.

"...At least wear slippers."

I stared at him.

"...Out of all the things you could've said?"

"You'll catch a cold."

The room exploded.

Felix buried his face in his hands.

"Of course."

Cin looked emotional.

"He looked at her like she was the most beautiful person in the world..."

"And then worried about slippers," Rory finished.

I couldn't stop myself from laughing.

"You are unbelievable."

Keifer crossed his arms.

"You were sick."

"There it is," Calix sighed.

Yurii shook his head with amusement.

"You never change."

I adjusted my headphones.

A smile tugged at my lips.

"Good."

Outside, the house echoed with laughter.

Inside, Section E continued arguing over absolutely nothing.

And standing in the middle of it all...

I realized something.

Maybe I didn't need perfect moments.

Maybe all I needed...

was this.

The chaos.

The teasing.

The people who cared.

And the boy who looked at me like I hung the stars in the sky...

before reminding me to wear slippers.

Then—

Ding dong.

The doorbell rang.

The entire house froze.

Cin slowly turned toward the door.

"...Who is that?"

I stared at the entrance.

And somehow...

I had a feeling my peaceful afternoon was officially over.

(Guess who is on the door?)
