I was officially back at school.
Recovered from my fever.
Alive.
Unfortunately.
I stepped into the classroom and immediately regretted it.
"JAY-JAY'S BACK!" Cin yelled.
Half the class looked over.
I sighed.
"...Why are you shouting?"
"You almost died!"
"I had a fever."
"Same thing," Rory replied dramatically.
Felix looked up from his book.
"You were sick for three days. He acted like the apocalypse had started."
"It was emotional," Cin defended himself.
I dropped into my seat.
"You're all annoying."
"She missed us," Eman said.
"No."
"She definitely did," Calix added.
Denzel nodded.
"She smiled."
"Traitor."
Before I could continue arguing—
Someone pulled out the chair beside me.
I didn't even have to look up.
"You skipped breakfast."
Keifer.
I blinked.
"...Good morning to you too."
"You skipped breakfast."
"How do you know?"
"You always have this look when you skip breakfast."
I stared at him.
"That's creepy."
"It's observation."
"It's creepy observation."
He placed a small carton of juice and bread on my desk.
"Eat."
"...You're treating me like a child."
"You had a fever."
"It was last week."
"You still skipped breakfast."
Cin gasped.
"HE REMEMBERS HER EATING HABITS."
Rory grabbed Felix.
"THIS MAN IS INSANE."
Felix didn't even look surprised anymore.
"He has been insane."
I opened the juice.
"...Thanks."
Keifer smirked.
"You said thank you twice this month."
"I can take it back."
"No refunds."
I rolled my eyes.
Then—
"Good morning."
The entire classroom suddenly became quiet.
I looked toward the door.
Yurii.
Tall.
Calm.
Keifer's best friend.
A member of Section E.
My fiancé.
He walked inside like nothing had happened.
Like the title of "fiancé" wasn't enough to make the room explode.
"Morning," he said.
Cin immediately looked between all three of us.
Then at Rory.
Then back again.
"Oh no."
Rory whispered,
"The love triangle is triangling."
"It's not a triangle," Felix muttered.
"It's a disaster."
Yurii stopped beside my desk.
"I heard you were sick."
"...I'm fine."
He looked at me for a few seconds.
"You should take better care of yourself."
Keifer crossed his arms.
"She doesn't listen."
I looked at him.
"Excuse me?"
Yurii glanced at Keifer.
"You stayed with her?"
"Yes."
"You missed school for her?"
"Yes."
Cin covered his mouth.
Eman looked away.
Calix suddenly became very interested in the ceiling.
Denzel looked like he wanted popcorn.
I stared at everyone.
"Why is everyone acting weird?"
Nobody answered.
Then Yurii sighed softly.
"I'm glad you're okay."
For a second, the classroom became quiet again.
I smiled.
"...Thanks, Yurii."
He nodded.
Then Keifer spoke.
"You still haven't finished your breakfast."
I looked at him in disbelief.
"Are you serious?"
"You need energy."
"Keifer."
"Eat."
"Bossy."
"You like me anyway."
The entire class froze.
Even I froze.
"...What?"
Keifer blinked.
Then realized what he had said.
Cin screamed.
"HE SAID IT!"
Rory nearly fell off his chair.
"HE FINALLY LOST HIS FILTER!"
Felix closed his book.
"I want a transfer."
Eman laughed.
Calix looked horrified.
Denzel looked entertained.
I stared at Keifer.
He stared back.
Then—
"...I meant you tolerate me."
I slowly smiled.
"You almost confessed in front of the entire class."
His ears turned slightly red.
"I did not."
"You absolutely did," Yurii said calmly.
The room exploded.
"YURII AGREED!"
"OH MY GOD!"
I couldn't stop laughing.
Keifer looked at all of us.
Then at me.
"...Eat your breakfast."
I laughed harder.
For the first time in days...
everything felt normal again.
Chaotic.
Complicated.
Ridiculous.
But normal.
I had Section E.
I had my family.
I had people in another city who loved me.
I had Yurii, who cared in his own quiet way.
And I had Keifer—
the king of flirting—
who somehow turned "eat your breakfast" into a love language.
Maybe life wasn't simple.
But it was mine.
And honestly...
I wouldn't trade it for anything.
