Loreen's POV
Sairis went unconscious quickly.
One moment he was shaking in Loreen's arms and the next the shaking stopped and his weight shifted and became heavier and Loreen understood that his body had simply given out.
He did not know how long Sairis had been on that floor or how long he had been crying before Loreen arrived, but it had clearly been long enough to drain everything out of him completely.
Loreen sat on the floor and held him and waited while Ardent finished what he was doing on the other side of the room.
His legs were already protesting from the position he had been in, but he did not move until Ardent came back and crouched in front of them.
Ardent reached out and took Sairis's wrist in his hand. He held it and counted quietly.
"How is he," Loreen asked. He kept his voice low.
