Candice's POV
Greta set her cup down and looked at Candice. "Enough of that for now… You look great today, Candice," she said. "You are glowing."
Candice smiled. "That is entirely your doing, your Majesty," she said. "The herbs you gave me have been working well. I feel considerably better than I did when I first arrived."
Greta looked pleased. "You are going to be the next queen of this kingdom," she said.
"It is only right that I look after you properly. Your health matters. Your appearance matters too. When you stand beside Loreen in that throne room as his wife, no woman in this kingdom should be able to compare to you. I want that for you."
Candice looked at the queen. It still amazed her, if she was being honest with herself. A few weeks ago this woman had been doing everything within her power to make sure Candice did not end up anywhere near the regent.
