Candice's POV
Henrietta knocked once and the door opened almost immediately. Queen Greta's aide stood on the other side with a wide and practiced smile, the kind that came with the position rather than the moment.
"Just on time," the aide said, stepping back to open the door wider.
Candice turned to Henrietta. "Wait here as usual," she said, and stepped through without looking back.
She had learned quickly that Queen Greta was particular about her personal space. From their very first meeting over tea, Greta had made it clear without making it uncomfortable that the conversations between them were to remain between them.
Henrietta waited outside every time. Candice had not questioned it. If anything, she preferred it. The things she and Greta discussed did not need an audience.
"The queen is on the balcony," the aide said, already moving ahead to lead the way.
