Sairis's POV
Sairis frowned, trying to understand why his body felt so weak and heavy. Sleepiness pulled at him in a way that did not feel normal, like his strength was slipping away with every passing second.
His grip loosened without his permission, and he could only just manage to hold onto Loreen's arm.
Loreen looked at him. "Announce what exactly," he said. "That you are not my omega?" He shook his head. "No, Sairis. We are well past that."
Sairis opened his mouth to respond and produced something that was not quite a sentence.
He frowned at himself again. His tongue felt slightly detached from his thoughts and his thoughts felt slightly detached from everything else and he was not entirely sure when that had started.
"Just let me go," he said. The words came out slow and rounded at the edges. "I will come back. Once I am done. I will come back and get checked properly."
He sounded, he realised distantly, like a man who had been drinking.
