Sairis's POV
Sairis paused, looking at him with a tired expression. He too was hungry, not just the prince. "What now?" he asked.
"Hold on," Marsden said. "You are taking the food in there to him, so where are you going?"
Sairis frowned at him, genuinely confused for a moment. Since when did he become responsible for Loreen's meals or duties? He was not his aide. He was not his guard. He was not even officially tied to the prince in any capacity that should involve carrying food into a royal deathbed.
"Uhm," Sairis started, then exhaled through his nose. "Last I checked, I am not his aide. That is not my responsibility."
The captain scoffed lightly, shaking his head. "Last we checked, no other person is allowed inside that room except you, tutor." he said.
Sairis blinked at him, slowly processing the word.
Then his expression tightened. "Okay, point of correction," he said, raising a hand slightly. "I am Sairis. Lady Candice's aide. Not tutor. You keep calling me that."
