Chapter 3 - The iron castle

Two hill folk elves were surveying the forest of southeast of velen, they are scouts of an elven settlement, they are not part of Scoia'tael, the non-human guerrilla force, but they settlement and guerrila fighters are neighbour as both normal settlement and guerrila camp has dominance in the forest of southeast of velen.

Both settlement and camp are not allied to each other, though they worked together occasionally while facing common threat like fighting monsters or corrupt humans. Both settlement and camp often sent scouts to survey of the forest for any monster or human attack.

The scouts, a male elf Roibeárd and a female elf Enid, are surveying the forest on behalf of the settlement.

{In elder speech} The place seems to be clear of any threat, as monsters here doesn't seem that dangerous, their quantity is low too, meaning there won't be any monster swarm attack, atleast for now.

{In their speech} There doesn't seem signs of human mob with pitchforks either, either they don't know our settlement or they have no intention to attack, not yet.

{In elder speech} I don't like those humans who came to this world from conjunction of spheres along with those monsters, they are invasive species and stole our lands. Though, I also believe that it is unwise and even immoral to attack both deserving and decent humans, I mean, not all of them are bad, there are some decent ones too, who might be chaotic but won't stoop too low like the ones deserved to die, they might respect or simply tolerate us.

{In elder speech} Sadly those guerilla fighter attack both responsible and innocent humans, they didn't realise that their blind hatred only making things worse rather than better, turning many of the humans that tolerate us to join the humans that oppress us.

{In elder speech} *Sigh* It can't be helped, they have gone too far in their hatred that they see every humans as oppressors, killing even those who are just annoying but would never oppress us.

{In elder speech} Anyway, let's not say this in front of those guerrila fighters, who know we might won't see next day, if they choose to kill us, when we are asleep.

{In elder speech} Indeed, ...huh?

{In elder speech} What happened?

{In elder speech} Did you hear it?

{In elder speech} The guerrila fighters! Did they heard us?

{In elder speech} It's not them. Listen the voice carefully, It sounds like...

But before Roibeárd could finish his world are large structure, way bigger than a castle came from sky. Both scouts can see the fire in bottom (thrusts), the giant structure soft landed right in front of them smashing everything beneath it, the trees, the animals and even monsters.

The giant structure landed to the ground, the two scouts hid behind a giant rock. They are stunned to see a structure that large coming from sky and softly landing on the ground.

{In the speech} What is that thing?!

{In the speech} It seems to be some kind of castle, a really large one, I heard lot about buildings, castles and even towers to be moved with magic. But isn't this just too big? I fear even hundreds of mages cannot lift the giant castle, especially when it is not just large but made of steel.

{In elder speech} Could it be, that the castles itself have a mechanism, like some artifacts being part of castles that allow it to be moved with no to less mages as it would simply absorb the chaos in atmosphere for the castle to move.

{In elder speech} That's not possible, I mean look at the castle! It is not just big, but made of metal, if it were a stone castle, there might be a possibility, but with a metal castle like that, it cannot move even with artifacts, it will drain chaos very fast, and before chaos is surrounding is restored, a metal castle is likely crash to ground.

{In elder speech} Anyway, we must inform other is settlement about an iron castle coming from sky, we don't know who is the owner of the castle and what he or she wants.

Both elven scouts left the area. 5 minutes later Alex came out of his private property/spaceship.

Ah, it's been more than two months, and I was starting to miss the fresh air, I mean there is no air in space and the air inside my mansion is not as good as the one in nature. By the way the air smell fresher in this planet, maybe because there is no industrialized cities here, meaning no air pollution from factories or by steam engines as back in arcanum, despite the dams, solar panels, windmills and nuclear plants acting as better power generators, some people still uses the outdated steam engines, as it is both cheap and generate sufficient power for electronics.

Alex, looked at the surroundings.

I don't see any magical fauna, but I cannot let my guard down, I must install turrets, assign combat automatons, mechanized arachnids and poison arachnids. I should also assign my mechanical drones to act as eyes for the security systems and of my mansion.

Alex return to his mansion and walked towards automaton strorage room, to activate and order the required automatons.

Meanwhile the two elven scouts returned to their settlement. They went straight to house of the head of the settlement, Petrus Siúlóir.

{In elder speech} Greetings scouts, do you came with report for the survey?

{In elder speech} We did the survey, there is no threat from monsters or humans.

{In elder speech} That's a good news, I guess we will be at ease for today.

{In elder speech} However, durining survey we noticed a giant castle coming from sky and landing in front of us.

{In elder speech} Fly castle? Could it be human sorcerers?

{In elder speech} We don't know, as we came straight here after seeing it, however, the castle was made of iron not stone.

{In elder speech} Iron castle? There's no way human or even us could move, afterall moving iron castle is something that elven mages of alder folks could accomplish.

{In elder speech} Could the castle belong to...

{In elder speech} Do not jump to conclusion, the one owning that castle might not be an alder folk, either way, I will request our sage to investigate the castle, to see who owns it, and what is the motive of the owner of that castle.
