Chapter 2 - The retirement

After living for more than five centuries, Alex finally felt bored and tired, by now he fulfilled his every ambition, acquired every knowledge, his wealth is enormous, he has everything he wanted and he has nothing left to learn or achieve, his current technological aptitude made him one with universe, and he knew every secrets of physical laws.

He decides to finally retire, and live a lazy and carefree life elsewhere, but given his fame, the scholars and technologists throughout entire arcanum might disturb his retirement, with various questions and requests, so he decided to leave the planet itself.

His private property, a giant structure with iron and gear, which he calls his mansion, though it is larger than more than ten castles combines. Alex's property isn't just home, it has laboratories, factories, hangers, greenhouses, power generators, storehouses and so on.

But that's not all, the mansion is also a giant spaceship, he learnt advanced space technology from vendigroth, an ancient technologically advanced civilization which was destroyed in ancient times but was mysteriously restored some years before Gilbert Bate's natural death.

Thanks to the advanced knowledge that made Vendigroth most powerful civilization in entire arcanum, Alex who learnt the Vendigroth's knowledge, learnt many thing include knowledge of space technology, which he used to turn his property into a secret spaceship.

In the present, Alex went to his chemical storage room and drink the elixir of youth.

My youth is now restored, now I can finally use the cockpit, there's no way a frail old man can drive a vehicle, which is why I used the elixir again.

He went to secret room of his mansion, which is actually a cockpit, that can allow on to drive the mansion/spaceship.

Good Heavens! I forgot to clean this place, this place is filled with dust and cobwebs. I guess because, although I build this room, I never used it, *Sigh*, I guess I have to clean this place, but given the size of the cockpit and how dirty this place is, I cannot clean this place alone, I guess I have to activate and order my automatons to help me clean this place.

Alex went to automaton storage room, which is filled with every automatons, mechanized arachnids, clockwork decoys, mechanical drones, spiderbots, mechs, etc., he turned towards the specific automatons, meant for housework and went to command controls to activate alteast 20 of them.

The automatons activated, alex went toward them.

Greetings master, is there anything we can do?

I want all 20 of you to help me clean the cockpit, it is dirtier than I imagined.

See, I told you, that the cockpit should be cleaned as well, until it become to dirty to be cleaned.

Hey, don't say like that!

It's okay, he is right, anyway we have to clean the place.

Relax, with 20 of us, we can help you clean that place.

That's right master! With our combined effort, that place will cleaned in no time.

And if it doesn't clean, we might simply need more household automatons.

Hmph, only if the place is not so dirty, that could take decades to be cleaned.

Hey! You are acting rude again.

It's okay, he is not wrong, anyways let's go to cockpit and start the cleaning.

{In unison} Understood!

Soon, Alex and automaton starts the cleaning, the place is dirtier than one can imagine, it took half of whole day to clean. After cleaning his finished, he checked if the machines and the computers are working and found some of them malfunctioning, he quickly bean repairing. After two hours later, the cockpit is functional again.

*Sigh* My automaton is right, I should had this place clean regularly, but I foolishly believed that this place could be cleaned easily when I need the cockpit, to make the matter worse some of the machines and the computers weren't working, due to lack of maintainence as well as spiders and cobwebs being inside the machines as well. Anyway, the cockpit is both clean and functional, after leaving the planet, I will have this place cleaned regularly as well.

Alex went to driver seat and activated the system, and launched his property/spaceship to space.

Finally, time to leave and start my retirement.

The spaceship launched, with a minute, it launched to sky, crossing the atmosphere, eventually reaching the space, leaving a empty space where gigantic building/spaceship used to be.

Two months passed, Alex start searching for a suitable planet to land, he found many planets all of which cannot sustain life or can sustain specific lives, Alex haven't found a suitable planet with same environment as his home planet.

{To himself} Don't tell me..., there is no suitable planet where I can survive, does that mean I have to return to my home planet?

But just as Alex was about to give up, the sensors of ultra space scanners, finally found a planet will same environment as his home planet.

*Phew* Finally, a suitable planet, afterall the size of space in limitless, there's no way that there cannot be a planet similar to one I left behind.

Alex drived the spaceship towards the direction of the planet. It took a whole week to reach the planet, while outside the planet's atmosphere, he used his spaceship's geological scanners and found that this planet has every chemical elements found in his home planet.

This is good news! This planet is 20 times larger than my home planet and has everything I need, to craft what I need or do maintainence of machines in my retired life.

Alex then used mystic vibration scanner to check the aptitude of the planet, and found it has strong magical aptitude, meaning in this world magic is preferred more than technology or technology is not created yet in this world.

A magical world with no sign of technology? Or a world where technology is not that advanced? Either way, I have to be careful, as I might encounter magical fauna which are either rare or extinct in my home planet but are abundant here.

Alex drived his spaceship and entered the atmosphere of this planet, he don't know what kind of intelligent species might be here, he believed it is wise to land in forest, for an unprepared ones, this is a wrong move, but for those who are prepared, be it a mage or technologist, this is an ideal starting point. With this in mind he locked is spaceship target of landing to a forest and begin the landing.
