LChapter 2: A Cup of Tea
The rain outside was getting heavier. The small tea shop was warm and quiet, filled with the smell of fresh tea and wet earth.
Arjun and Maya stood there for a moment without saying anything. The sound of raindrops hitting the tin roof created a soft rhythm.
The shop owner placed two cups of hot tea on the table.
"Here, drink this. The rain will not stop soon," he said with a smile.
Maya wrapped her hands around the warm cup and looked outside at the pouring rain.
"I didn't expect the weather to change so suddenly," she said softly.
Arjun smiled a little. "This town is like that. The rain comes whenever it wants."
Maya laughed quietly.
For the first time, Arjun noticed how beautiful her smile was. It felt warm, like sunlight after a storm.
"So… do you live here?" Arjun asked.
Maya shook her head. "No. I just moved here today. My father got transferred for work."
Arjun felt a strange feeling in his chest. Somehow he was happy to hear that she was staying in the town.
"That means we might meet again," he said jokingly.
Maya looked at him and smiled again.
"Maybe we will."
For a moment their eyes met again, and the world outside seemed to fade away.
The rain kept falling, but inside the little tea shop a new friendship was slowly beginning.
Neither of them knew that this meeting was not just a coincidence.
It was the beginning of a story that would change their lives forever.
