Chapter 142: Using the Mysterious Cup Fragment—Purifying the Evil Orbs?

...

Skreeee—!!!

Gah-gah!

Thump, thump, thump!

Suddenly, Seito felt the ground beneath him trembling violently. In an instant, he realized what was happening—the noise from the previous fight had drawn a swarm of Mini-Bosses toward his location.

"This isn't good..." Seito's expression turned grim. Grinding down one Boss had taken half an hour; if a whole pack arrived, he'd never be able to log off today. Who knew if even stronger Bosses were trailing behind them?

Without a moment's hesitation, he used Spatial Displacement, racing back toward the entrance of the 51st floor.

Twenty minutes later...

God's Domain, 50th Floor.

Having reached the safety of the 50th floor, Seito released everyone from the Kamui Dimension. As the Executives took in their surroundings, they all turned to look at him.

"How was it? Did you kill the Mini-Boss?" Maple asked.

"Killed it," Seito replied with a smile. "But man, that thing was a nightmare to take down."

He then glanced at Yue, who was being held in Haruno Yukinoshita's arms. The girl was no longer the trembling, skittish stray they had found; she was currently munching on a sausage. Clearly, Haruno and the others had been busy "feeding the kitten" while inside the dimension.

"Little Yue, would you like to come live with us?"

"Mhm!" Yue's eyes sparkled. "I want to stay with big brother and the big sisters!"

Everyone couldn't help but smile. This little kid was truly adorable.

"Alright, let's call it a day for the 51st floor," Seito decided. He didn't plan on taking the group back into that meat grinder just yet. There was still plenty of time left in the day, enough to handle other tasks.

The others nodded and, one by one, teleported away—leaving only Kanade Tachibana and Kirukiru Amou behind.

Seito pulled out his recent loot to examine it closely. Amou and Kanade both noticed the description of the Evil Orb.

"This orb... it's a lot like the reward from your first event," Amou remarked. She had heard Seito mention that reward—a wisp of Divine Breath—more than once.

"Mhm," Seito nodded. "But only similar."

It was "like" it, but unusable as-is. Both girls could see that. Seito sank into thought. While he wouldn't bring the whole group back to the 51st floor to level, the loot from those Mini-Bosses was too good to pass up. He decided to go back and solo a few more.

"You two go handle some quests; I'm going to farm a few more Mini-Bosses," he told them. The two girls nodded, and Seito turned back into the labyrinth.

Two hours later...

Back on the 50th floor, Seito eagerly opened his character panel.

[Nickname: Sei]

[Level: 62]

[HP: 150m / 150m]

[Divine Power: 900]

[Godhood: None]

[Divine Atk/Def/Magi: 25k+] | [Divine Speed: 16.52m+]

[Talent: Spatial Mastery]

[Weapon: Spatial Dragon Blade (Artifact), Dimensional Rubik's Cube, Snow-White Trench Coat, Spatial Dragon Ring (Artifact), Spatial Necklace]

He had successfully farmed three more Bosses, pushing his level to 62. After Level 60, each level-up granted 5,000 points to all four main stats. His Free Attribute Points had reached a staggering 20,000!

Furthermore, because his total Speed exceeded ten million, he triggered the Specialization Reward again. This time, it granted him 100,000 raw Speed (unbuffed), bringing his base Speed to 280,000. With equipment multipliers, his total Speed had skyrocketed to over 16.5 million!

The only downside was the massive amount of XP now required for each level past 60.

He closed the panel and pulled out the four orbs tainted with the Evil God's breath.

"What exactly are these for?" he wondered. He had several divine-tier items now but no manual for them.

Then, he remembered the "Mysterious Cup Fragment"—his reward from the second event. He pulled it out.

The moment it appeared, the fragment emitted a profound, ethereal glow. Under Seito's stunned gaze, the fragment shot out four beams of mysterious light into the orbs. Within ten seconds, the dark-green miasma inside the orbs began to dissipate.

The murky green light vanished, replaced by what looked like swirling galaxies trapped within the spheres. They were radiant and magnificent. Seito hurriedly checked the info:

[Divine Orb: An orb containing a wisp of Divine Power. Can help humans open the path to godhood.]

"This is..." Seito's eyes widened.

Holy cow! That's what the cup fragment is for! It purifies the "Evil" out of the "Evil Breath," turning a lethal trap into a key to godhood!

Seito knew that normally, whether it was an Evil God or a Holy God, even a tiny sliver of their breath would cause a human to explode upon contact. But this fragment acted as a filter, allowing a human to safely absorb the essence.

"What kind of insane artifact is this cup fragment?" Seito murmured. It felt more like a supreme treasure than a simple event reward. This second event reward had finally revealed its true worth, and it was significantly more powerful than the mysterious shards he'd found previously.

Tucking the cup fragment away, Seito looked at the four Divine Orbs, a smirk playing on his lips. "Now, who should I give these to?"
