Chapter 122: Unifying the Far North! Building the Empire!

.....

On the battlefield...

"KILL—!!"

"Damn it! Slay that fat pig!"

"I want his head!"

"Don't steal my kill! You bunch of kill-stealers!!"

A group of Fatui guild members roared as they charged toward a portly Baron standing before them. At this moment, every member of the guild wore a ferocious grin. Upon closer inspection, the solo players and NPC soldiers were no different.

As for why they were so crazed? Just moments ago, Seito had captured several territories. Two of the enemy lords' heads had been taken—one by a guild member and one by an ordinary soldier. Seito had instantly promoted that guild member to a Junior Officer and the soldier to a Squad Leader.

Naturally, everyone's eyes were now glowing! To them, these enemy lords weren't humans; they were prime "2-5-7" cuts of juicy meat.

As for the other players? They found that following Seito caused their levels to skyrocket; many had already jumped four or five levels. None of them wanted to miss out on this delicious feast of experience points. The reason they were leveling so fast was that Seito's quest allowed them to party up with high-level NPCs—a feature no other quest offered.

After slaying so many Level 100 soldiers, Seito's own level had increased by two. He had to admit, the feeling of not having anyone to split his experience with was truly wonderful. He opened his personal panel:

[Nickname: Sei]

[Level: 44]

[HP: 5.01M / 5.01M]

[Divine Power: 164]

[Godhead: None]

[Divine Stats: Atk 1465 | Def 1465 | Magic 1465 | Speed 850k+]

[Talent: Space Mastery]

[Skills: Speed Space (Exclusive), Spatial Movement (Exclusive)...]

[Equipment: Spatial Dragon Blade (Artifact), Dimensional Cube, Snow-White Trench Coat, Spatial Dragon Ring (Set 1/5), Spatial Necklace]

Looking at his current speed, Seito clicked his tongue. It was absurdly high. He could easily slaughter Level 100 mobs like they were nothing! It seemed that once this event concluded, it would be time to visit the 51st floor.

He then checked the status of the kitten on his shoulder:

[Pet: Sun-Moon]

[Level: 35]

[Quality: Purple (Evolves via Devouring)]

[Stats: 3500 across all boards]

[Skills: Devour, Divine Walk, Sun-Moon Slash, Tiny Sun]

Little Sun-Moon's growth was staggering. Seito suspected that after unifying the Far North, her quality would jump to Orange or even Red. He had truly found a treasure.

Looking ahead, he saw Maple (Honjou Kaede) riding a massive turtle, providing aerial fire support. The turtle's name was "Syrup"—a reward she and Sally (Risa Shiramine) had earned earlier that afternoon by challenging a boss after school. Sally's pet, a little fox named "Oboro," was also growing rapidly. Both were Gold-tier quality. As expected of the "Goddess of Luck," Maple, he mused.

As time passed, a large wave of new players suddenly appeared in the Far North.

"Hahaha! Finally made it! That was a trek!"

"Quick, brothers! Sei is about to unify the North. We need to grab a piece of the action, even if it's just the leftovers!"

"Those idiots who chose the Empire faction are screwed. We can teleport straight to Snezhnaya, while they have to teleport to the Storm Empire and walk the whole way!"

Seito was briefly surprised by their words until he checked the system logs. Seeing that the "Imperial War" had officially triggered, he realized the cat was out of the bag.

"I guess I can't keep a low profile anymore," he sighed. He had planned to develop in secret and launch a sudden "blitzkrieg," but unifying such a large region had triggered a server-wide announcement. Still, once he had enough citizens and a built-up empire, the entire landscape of the 30th floor would change. "I'll probably have the North unified before the Empire's main force even arrives," he noted. Their clearing speed was simply too fast.

As the final territory in the Far North fell, Seito turned to face the excited crowd of players and soldiers.

"Comrades! The Far North is ours!"

"OHHHH!!"

"WOHOO! UNIFICATION!"

"OVERTHROW THE EMPIRE! LEVEL UP LIKE CRAZY!!"

The cheers thundered through the sky, announcing the birth of a new King. The players were ecstatic—the experience rewards were simply too massive to ignore.

"General Bai," Seito turned to Bai Feng.

"Leader!" Bai Feng dropped to one knee.

"From this day forth, you are the Grand General of Snezhnaya! The Storm Empire has dispatched a force of 150,000. I want you to track their movements immediately."

Seito had seen the numbers on the World Chat; the Empire faction players were bragging about their troop count. Including captives and new recruits from the captured lands, Seito could soon field a matching 150,000.

"I understand." Bai Feng struck his right hand against his heart—the highest salute of Snezhnaya.

Seito nodded, then turned to the Fatui members, his gaze landing on Mrs. Minami.

"Chairwoman, you are in charge of Imperial Affairs. Pick your own staff. I need you to build this Empire from the ground up. We need at least twenty cities. You don't have to do it personally; just issue the orders to the guild members and commoners. Offer a daily reward of ten gold coins for their labor."

"I understand," she replied. Building infrastructure was essential now that the Far North was their headquarters.

"SunnyCat (Haruno), you handle the finances."

"Understood," Haruno replied.

Finally, Seito looked at the officers, settling on a familiar face. "Old Twenty-Eight, you are in charge of agriculture. Combine our techniques with the unique flora of the Far North to maximize yield. Do this well, and I will give you a reward like no other."
