Chapter 120: Viscount Bai Feng, the Full Moon Guild is Here Too???

...

One by one, the players assembled. Even the Executives were no exception. Ten minutes later, seeing that the majority of the members had arrived, Seito began to issue the quest. Simultaneously, a quest panel popped up in front of every guild member.

[Quest: Conquest of the Far North!]

[Description: The Snezhnaya Lord "Sei" is dissatisfied with his current territory and intends to launch a campaign of conquest! Unify the Far North! (Note: Teaming up with NPCs is permitted.)]

[Requirement: Occupy all territories within the Far North.]

[Participants: Unlimited.]

[Reward: Massive Experience Points!]

As Seito released the quest, the players broke into a frenzy of discussion.

"A quest issued by our own Guild Leader? You can play the game like this?"

"Tsk tsk, 'Massive EXP.' I feel like I can hit Level 35 today!"

"Amateur! I'm hitting Level 40!"

The players quickly realized how lucrative this reward was. They were currently part of the Snezhnaya faction, which possessed countless NPCs—high-level ones at that! By teaming up with them, they could leech a staggering amount of experience during the war. It was an absolute goldmine.

"Kirito," Seito looked toward the veteran player among his officers. "Go notify Captain Green. Tell him to bring the men."

"No problem!" Kirito turned and sprinted toward the training grounds.

A short while later... Stomp, stomp, stomp—!

A column of fully armed soldiers, led by Green, arrived at Seito's position. They halted with military precision.

"LEADER!" they roared in unison.

Seito nodded and walked up to the speaker's platform. The Fatui guild members immediately fell into formation to the left of the soldiers. The Executives stood at the very front, followed by the officers in the middle, and the ordinary members at the rear.

Scanning the assembly, Seito began his speech.

"Comrades! I won't waste words. Since when were kings and nobles determined by birth? When I am crowned King, the Empire will forever remember your glory! There are roughly fifteen territories surrounding us. Our first step is the total unification of the Far North!"

The soldiers erupted in cheers. "For Snezhnaya! Victory!!" Their minds were filled with the dreams Seito had planted—leaving their names in history, becoming generals. What man could refuse such a call?

Turning to the players, Seito added, "The same goes for you! Want to become an officer? An Executive? Then fight for it! With merit comes everything!"

The players' eyes practically glowed red with excitement. The lure of promotion was irresistible. Seito swept his arm out, his heavy coat fluttering in the wind.

"MARCH!!"

God's Domain, Floor 30: The Far North.

Currently, the members of the Round Moon Guild were here performing a quest, alongside many solo players and other guild members.

"Kaguya-chan, why would the Emperor of the Storm Empire give us such a simple quest?" Asuna asked, puzzled. Aside from being time-consuming, the quest was almost too easy. If they hadn't used one-way teleportation items, they wouldn't even be here.

"We had to use items to get here quickly. Do you think a pampered Emperor would ever come to this frozen wasteland himself?"

Kaguya Shinomiya replied with a scoff. She saw through it—the quest was just a way to exploit players. They only came because the reward was an Orange-tier piece of equipment, though seeing how many people had the same quest, she suspected the gear's stats wouldn't be great.

They were currently in a territory called Bailan Ridge. The ruler here was an Imperial Viscount of the Storm Empire. In this empire, the peerage ranked from Duke down to Baron. In the harsh Far North, a Viscount was the highest-ranking noble.

His name was Bai Feng. Interestingly, the residents of this territory mostly had Eastern features. With a population of 500,000 and 50,000 soldiers, his strength was formidable.

As Kaguya and the others were thinking, a scout ran toward the Viscount's manor in a panic.

"My Lord! Someone is attacking our territory!"

The shout instantly drew the players' attention. Is this... a hidden event? Without a word, the crowd, including Kaguya's group, rushed toward the outskirts.

At the Territory Border.

A large number of garrison soldiers had already gathered. They looked at the approaching force with confusion. The enemy had very few traditional soldiers; the rest were wearing black suits and were mostly below Level 40.

Seito, riding a white horse, slowly emerged from his ranks.

"General Lin! I'll go meet him!" a young officer shouted to the middle-aged general beside him. The general nodded, and the youth galloped forward.

"Identify yourself! Who dares approach?!" the youth shouted. "I am Ye Anlan of the Far North!"

Seito blinked. Ye Anlan? That's a... flamboyant name. (Note: A reference to a famous arrogant character in Chinese web novels).

Ye Anlan ignored Seito's expression and barked, "Are you here to attack our Lord? Did the Empire send you?"

Seito paused. The Empire? He sensed a juicy bit of lore. He quickly opened the guild chat.

[Sei: Does anyone have info on the Storm Empire?]

[Old Twenty-Eight: Boss! I do!]

[Sei: Oh? Let's hear it.]

[Old Twenty-Eight: I heard the Storm Empire's royalty was once humiliated by the Divine Flame Empire on the 50th Floor. Now, they hate anyone with Eastern features. That's why "Bai Feng" was exiled here to the Far North, despite being a Viscount!]
