The bullet was crystal clear in Ivan's vision.
Half-transformed into a dinosaur, he sidestepped the shot while charging straight toward the attacking guards.
Four guards had arrived.
The moment the first gunshot rang out, they had received instructions through their earpieces from their captain, Greg.
Ever since the last incident, Greg had been transferred here directly from above.
The guards trusted him.
He was not only strong, but meticulous and level-headed. Most importantly, he had connections higher up.
So once the order came, the four guards—already patrolling nearby—quickly regrouped and rushed to the outpatient lobby.
Using firearms against a target wasn't unusual at the Third Hospital.
In fact, it was practically routine.
Any intruder could be shot on sight.
That authority didn't come from their security uniforms.
It came from the powerful figures who controlled the hospital.
But what they never expected was that the intruder would dodge their bullets—
while charging straight toward them.
The distance between them was barely fifteen meters.
And it was shrinking rapidly.
Dodging bullets like that—
was that something a human could even do?
All four guards had the same thought.
Then they saw Ivan's mouth stretching wide, nearly to his ears, revealing rows of sharp teeth.
They realized instantly.
The thing they were facing wasn't human.
It was a monster.
A chill ran through their hearts.
But their reactions were still fast.
Seeing that their guns were useless, the leading guard swung his pistol like a club, smashing the grip toward Ivan in a desperate attack.
Behind him, the other three guards simultaneously pulled out their batons.
Under the effects of Scary Monsters, Ivan's half-dinosaur form hadn't grown a tail this time.
But that didn't prevent him from using the dinosaur's abilities.
Even if the power was weaker than a full transformation, it was more than enough to deal with a few guards.
The guard's swinging pistol looked painfully slow to Ivan.
He sidestepped the desperate strike.
At the same moment, he slashed forward with his transformed hand.
His claws pierced through the guard's uniform effortlessly.
A hole opened in the man's abdomen.
Ivan didn't slow down.
He pulled his hand free and plunged directly into the formation of the remaining three guards.
The guard whose stomach had been pierced was no longer worth another glance.
The guards reacted well.
Their training was solid.
But the gap between them and Ivan was simply too great.
The moment firearms became ineffective, the balance of the fight had already tipped entirely in Ivan's favor.
Their attacks posed little threat to his half-dinosaur body.
After carving a hole into each of them, Ivan slipped through their blockade like a slick eel.
Transformation took time.
Ivan didn't know exactly how long.
But once two of them fully transformed into dinosaurs, he could create enough confusion to determine how the enemy was tracking him.
Turning them into Velociraptors would also give him additional help.
Compared to staying inside the building, Ivan knew the outside environment suited him far better.
First, the night barely affected him.
Dinosaurization had given him both incredible dynamic vision and night vision.
Second, he could already hear more footsteps approaching rapidly.
But these weren't coming from outside.
They were gathering inside the building, closing in on his position.
Finally, the morgue building was located outside the outpatient structure.
If he stayed inside and headed toward the connecting corridor between the two buildings, it would make his objective far too obvious.
At the same time, more small dinosaurs were slipping into the hospital.
The emergency department's security booth became a priority target.
Regardless of how the guard was tracking him, the surveillance equipment and the guard himself were both threats.
The morgue building stood some distance from the outpatient building.
Ivan moved quickly.
But the more he ran, the more certain he became.
The guards could pinpoint his location precisely.
No matter how he changed direction, the guards chasing him adjusted their movements instantly.
When the first Velociraptor appeared, Ivan had already reached the morgue building.
He no longer needed to coordinate with the raptor to mislead his pursuers.
He had confirmed something.
They were not using surveillance cameras.
Cameras couldn't track him with such accuracy.
If it wasn't cameras, then it had to be the guard's Nen ability.
Replaying their interaction step by step in his mind, Ivan quickly realized the problem.
The registration form.
The one the guard had handed him.
As long as Ivan wrote information on that form, the guard could likely determine his position.
Whether the information had to be genuine remained uncertain.
But Ivan had already thought of two ways to break the ability.
The first option was simple:
Deal with the guard directly.
That would almost certainly neutralize the ability.
Even if it didn't fully break it, the ability would become meaningless.
The second option was to abandon the hospital investigation and leave.
That option had only a fifty percent chance of working.
The reason for this estimate was that the ability likely had one of two restrictions.
Either a location restriction, or a time restriction.
Ivan leaned toward the first.
As long as the registered person remained inside the hospital grounds, the guard could track their exact location.
It matched perfectly with the guard's profession.
Considering how easily the ability could be activated, it probably didn't have an absurd duration.
One to three days seemed reasonable.
Anything longer would make the risk-reward balance inconsistent with how Nen abilities typically worked.
Ivan regretted that the Compsognathus hadn't infected the guard directly.
If it had, he would feel much safer right now.
Still, once all the Velociraptors were born, he planned to send two of them after the guard.
He wondered whether the man would still be able to hold out then.
Before that, Ivan leapt upward, reaching the second floor in a single jump.
He smashed through a window and entered the morgue building.
First, he needed to investigate this place.
But as he looked out through the shattered glass window—
he noticed something.
Behind the inpatient building he had marked earlier, near its rear entrance—
stood two box trucks.
The same kind he had seen before.
