Chapter 5: The Master of Origins
The Great Hall of the Unified Soul-Academy was silent, save for the rhythmic humming of the Gold System Stone at Leo's neck. This wasn't the Senior exam from the previous year; this was the Grandmaster Breeder Final, a trial that hadn't been passed in three centuries. To succeed, one had to prove mastery over the "Origin-Grade"—the ability to revert a corrupted beast to its primordial, divine state.
The Final Exam: The Shattered Phoenix
Before Leo stood a Void-Corrupted Phoenix, a creature that should have been a radiant sun but was now a screaming mass of oily black feathers and decaying spatial rifts. It was a victim of the Maw's "Seed," a living paradox of life and erasure.
"Candidate Heart," the High Proctor announced, "restore the Origin, or the beast must be put down."
Leo didn't reach for tools. He activated the Eye of Truth and the Sovereign's Link simultaneously.
He saw the "knots" in the Phoenix's soul—dark threads of the Maw intertwined with the bird's golden life-force. Using the Memory Mirror, Leo projected a historical blueprint of the First Phoenix from 50,000 years ago.
"I don't command you," Leo whispered, stepping into the Phoenix's black fire. "I remind you who you were before the dark."
Through the Link, Leo poured his own "Sovereign-Breath" into the creature. He didn't fight the corruption; he outshone it. The black feathers began to ignite, turning from soot to white phosphorus, then to liquid gold.
SCREECH!
With a burst of heat that bypassed the hall's wards, the Phoenix exploded into a miniature sun. When the light dimmed, an Origin-Grade Solar-Phoenix perched on Leo's shoulder, its feathers shedding sparks of pure, healing mana.
The Proctors stood in unison. No one spoke. The exam was over.
The Graduation: A Legacy Reborn
An hour later, the courtyard was filled with the entire student body, the new Guild leaders, and the emissaries from the Outer Lands. Master Silas stepped onto the dais, holding a scroll made of World-Tree parchment and a medal forged from the four fused fragments.
"Ten thousand years ago," Silas began, his voice thick with emotion, "the Heart family was tasked with guarding a cage. Today, the last son of that house has burned the cage and built a sanctuary."
Leo stepped forward. He didn't look like a student anymore; his white hair now held a permanent silver luster, and his presence carried the weight of the two suns above.
"Leo Heart," Silas said, handing him the Graduation Diploma of the United Realms. "You have surpassed the masters. You have surpassed the System. You are the first Graduate of the Fused World."
The Offer of a Lifetime
As the cheers died down, Silas placed a heavy hand on Leo's shoulder. He leaned in, his eyes twinkling with a mix of pride and a new, professional respect.
"The Academy needs more than a hero, Leo," Silas said, loud enough for the front rows to hear. "It needs a visionary. We are opening the Faculty of Origin-Breeding, a department dedicated to exploring the new laws of our fused reality."
Silas pulled out a secondary badge—the Professor's Crest.
"I am offering you the position of Grand-Professor of Origin Studies. You will be the youngest faculty member in history. You'll have the authority to lead expeditions into the deep Outer Lands and define the curriculum for the next generation."
Leo looked at Samuel, Marcus, Lira, and Kahn. They were his team, his vanguard. He looked at the Solar-Phoenix on his shoulder and the Gold Stone that held the memories of his journey.
"I accept, Master," Leo said, a touch of his old wit returning to his smile. "But I have one condition."
"And that is?" Silas asked.
"My classes won't be held in a room," Leo said, looking toward the horizon where the new continents were rising. "The world is the classroom now. We start the first field trip tomorrow."

As the suns set, the Academy's registry was updated.
