1 day later, the whole world fell into chaos after disastrous news.
The world as they know it... was coming to an end.
Many refused to believe it, others fell into despair and grief, hoping that it was all a bad joke or a nightmare,however scientist from all around the world confirmed the validity of the news. Not only was it true, but a lot worse than they thought.
It was a meteor the size of Texas; everybody knew what that meant. Such an asteroid is easily capable of permanently wiping out all life on the surface. After it falls, all life on Earth will cease to exist, and the planet itself will be uninhabitable and completely unsuitable for the birth of life for the rest of its lifespan.
It wasn't just doomsday, it was the end of all life for a whole planet,it was The End.
All nations in the world became completely chaotic,sending every weapon or bomb known and unknown to mankind in a desperate attempt to stop or redirect the asteroid,yet to their absolute despair, the asteroid remained unfazed; it felt indestructible.
Just as all hope was lost,the guardians of the globe, along with Omni, made their appearance,igniting hope for all Life on Earth,yet their grim expression and helpless words sent all people on Earth further into the abyss of despair.
They couldn't destroy or redirect the asteroid,it was simply too big, even if with their combined effort's manged to break it into pieces, it would still result in an extinction-level event, of course, that was completely and utterly bullshit. Omni Man alone could easily resolve this issue with minimal effort; the reason they lied is due to the terrible information they received from Cecil.
A threat far worse than a mere Texas-sized asteroid was approaching; it was a threat not only to Earth but to the whole universe,it was so serious that Cecil didn't even give a shit about the threat of Viltrumite's anymore. If that thing and its boundless army manage's to invade this world, then everything is toast,even Viltrumite's will be considered cannon fodder.
Just as complete chaos was about to unfold, an announcement was made,multiple location in globe were revealed to everyone,there were giant nation level arc's, for a second, people thought they were being invaded by aliens, but the guardian of the globe assured everyone that they were owned by a friendly shadow government, there were meant for mass evacuations capable of hosting an entire specie's.
But Cecil and a select few knew the whole truth; many people would be left behind,the arcs could definitely transport an entire species; however, there was one problem: they didn't buy enough of them,not because of the lack of funds,they had plenty,but because of the human empire being forced to flee from their planet.
However, not all hope was lost. Sebastian will protect those who remain until Cecil can send some of the arc's back to earth to retrieve the rest. Sebastian, although powerful, couldn't open portals that far.
Evacuation had begun an hour ago, but to say that people weren't killed by stampedes and accidents of all sorts would be a lie; humans, when threatened, acted no differently than scared and panicked animals, which was understandable. Some would even outright kill others,because they thought that the seats on those arcs were limited..and they were right, unfortunately.
Cecil knew that all of this would happen, but there was simply nothing he could do; they were unprepared for such a catastrophe, and they had neither the time nor the technology to safely and swiftly evacuate everyone with little to no deaths.
Superhumans and heroes of all kinds had tried to help with evacuations,but there were simply too many people and too much chaos; most failed miserably,the rest managed to get a few safely to the arc's,though many of them died from gunfire by gangs and madmen who seemed too indulged in the pleasure of chaos and anarchy to consider the survival of their species.
Men in black combat suits and masks descended from the sky, taking out those heretic madmen; they were none other than the artificially created Human Viltrumite hybrids. Cecil had been extremely careful with their selection,selecting those with perfect backgrounds and injecting them with the SSS to amplify their positive characteristics and reduce their chances of going rogue. He then proceeded to inject them with the Viltrumite serum.
After the Viltrumite hybrids took care of the gangsters and madmen, they left flying to another location to clean up the rest of the heretic trash.
Ten days passed and only half the arcs were filled. People were still travelling to get to them,unity and communication were essentially nonexistent,Cecil was so pissed off by the incompetence and inefficiency of the human species that he wanted to rage quit.
Cecil, who was inside one of the Arcs, shouted to a scientist, completely losing his cool, which was unusual but understandable if we take into account that the human was at threat of extinction.
"HOW MUCH IS IT GONNA TAKE FOR EVACUATION TO BE COMPLETED?!"He easily picked up a table and was about to throw it at the wall, but stopped halfway.
He calmly laid down the table and took a few deep breaths to calm himself,and turned to look at the scientist who had lowered his head in shame.
"I don't know how, but we have to accelerate the evacuations!. We don't know how much time we have. They said it's going to take 30 days for the invasion...But what if it takes less than that? What if the invasion is happening right now?!"
The scientist was silent,causing Cecil to sigh in exhaustion and anxiety.
Cecil said with finality.
"Three days,that's the amount of time I'm willing to risk for the possible extinction of the human race,if the rest of the arcs aren't full by then.
Cecil didn't need to say it; this wasn't the time for empathy and human emotions. He carried the burden of the survival of an entire species; call him a monster or evil,but this is necessary. He seemed to be the only one willing to make the hard call,to taint his hands in blood for the greater good.
