Inside a huge underground facility, was a giant structure that looked like a platform for a portal of some sort,10 meters away were three figures standing there observing it, one of the figures with black long wavy hair and black wings wore an anxious and solemn expression,right beside him stood a bald woman with a yellow robe giving him an amused side eye and the third figure was man with white long hair and white wings.
''The moment the ancient one walked in, I already knew that something was definitely gonna happen today, thankfully it's not something catastrophic, otherwise she would have stopped Erskine''thought Eldrin still feeling anxious.
''Is everything ready?'' asked Erskine the scientists in the control room.
After a few moments, one of them answered.
''Yes Sir, everything is ready,there should be no problems''
Erskine nodded and said.
''Activate the portal''
The scientist hearing that wasted no time and directly activated the portal with the help of the AI.
Nothing fancy happened, a giant blue portal simply appeared on the platform.
Erskine then ordered.
''Send AI controlled survilance robots, just for assurance.''
Even if Erskine is sure about the success of the experiment, he still cannot with a good conscience risk the safety of any of his people.
The surveillance robots went directly inside the portal and disappeared from the facility.
On a giant holographic screen, an unexpected scene was shown by the surveillance robots, what appeared on the holographic screen was a beautiful green forest.
Erskine was profoundly confused by the sight and said.
''This is not Mars, which forest is this?,from what I can tell it's definitely located on Earth''
Eldrin was confused too, he was expecting something more worse to go wrong, like the portal not opening at all.
The ancient ones' faces turned ecstatic upon seeing the portal, and directly walked in with no hesitation.
Neither Eldrin nor Erskine were worried about her, after all, the portal seemed to lead to a forest located somewhere on Earth.
After looking at each other, they too walked in.
There was no strange feeling upon entering the portal, it was seamless.
After both figures appeared in the forest, they used their wings to fly in the clear sky.
But Eldrin seemed to sense something strange, a sort of energy and it seemed, Evil?
But then something else got his attention in the far distance.
''Is that a giant willow tree?'' thought Eldrin, confused.
But that was not the strangest thing he saw,in the distance was a city on an island with a bridge connecting it to the land, the city's architecture seemed medieval with castle walls surrounding it.
''A statue?, this one reminds me of game, it was called Genshin if I remember correctly''though Eldrin in realisation.
Under the giant willow tree, the ancient one seemed to look around at nothing with awe.
''Look at this magic energy in the air, unbelievable!" thought The ancient one in awe,she had never seen something like this: a world that could produce ambient magical energy without relying on other realities or dimensions.
The ancient one then tried to manipulate the ambient magical energy, right after in the palm of her hand, Anemo energy was concentrated forming into a ball.
''Fascinating, it even has an element!'' thought the ancient one in amazement.
She then turned towards the two incoming figures in the sky.
After they both landed, Erskine said in confusion.
''This is not our world?''
Eldrin answered while massaging his temples like he had some sort of headache.
''Yes, it is most definitely not.''
Suddenly, the voice of a young woman was heard.
''Hey you!, stop right there!''
And then she appeared, jumping from a short cliff and landing with an unnecessary roll into the ground.
The ancient one and Erskine looked confused while Eldrin muttered.
"And so it begins."
After she dusted herself from the roll, she turned towards the strange too-tall figures with wings and said while putting a hand on her chest.
''May the Anemo god protect you, stranger!,I am Amber, Outrider for the knights of Fevonius. "
And then after a dramatic salute she continued with suspicion that did not show on her face.
''You don't look like citizens of Mondstandt. Explain yourself!''
The ancient one and Erskine were profoundly confused.
But Eldrin answered calmly with a slight bow.
''We are merely adventurers,with no ill intent if that's what you're worried about.''
Even after hearing the calm man's answer she remained unconvinced, after all Eldrin was a man with a height of 2.30 meters with black wings on his back; and although his appearance may look angelic it also looked intimidating.
''That's what all the troublemakers say''
Eldrin answered to that.
''That's also what anybody would say in the current situation, so what would you require for assurance of our intentions?''
Amber thought for a while and finally said.
''First of all, tell me your names."
Eldrin then answered.
"You may call me Eldrin," he then pointed towards Erskine and said, "his Erskine, and this ''young woman'' is called Drevniy.
Note: Drevniy means the ancient one in Russian, the reason he called her that is because Ember would ask why she's called the ancient one, which would be impossible to explain; it will also make Amber more suspicious thinking she's some kind of Adeptus or god.
"You all have weird names,where are you from?"
Eldrin answered with a calm voice, but from the inside he was laughing.
''We are from a ''small village''called Chelovecheskaya imperiya.''
Note: It translates to the human empire.
Amber has never heard of a village called that, but she chose to believe its existence due to their different clothes and strange characteristics.
"They are probably from some uncontacted tribe, maybe an isolated new humanoid race" thought amber fascinated while looking at those wings.
Amber then said in a serious tone.
''Well look, there's been a large dragon sighted around Monstadt recently, best you get inside the city as soon as possible''
Though she still has some doubts regarding their intentions, she let it go for the moment, after all, there is a rampaging dragon out there.
