The conversation with Noah should have made things easier. It should have given Rafael clarity. Instead, it had done the exact opposite.
For the rest of the afternoon, Noah's words replayed inside his mind.
"Pretend it never happened."

"Talk to her."
Neither option felt right. The first irritated him. The second terrified him.
Which was ridiculous. Rafael Romano had negotiated with dangerous men, faced enemies without hesitation, and survived assassination attempts. Yet somehow the thought of having one simple conversation with Aria made him feel uneasy and he hated it.
By evening, he finally made a decision. He was tired of thinking.
Tired of remembering fragments of that night and replaying every word he had said while drunk.
Most of all...he was tired of wondering what Aria thought about it. He needed answers. Even if he wasn't sure why.The opportunity came after dinner.
