Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 – The Moon Festival Night

The full moon hung high above the Bloodridge territory, glowing brighter than usual as if the Moon Goddess herself was watching the wolves gathered below. The annual Moon Festival had begun, and the entire clearing was alive with music, laughter, and excitement. Torches burned in a wide circle around the celebration, their golden light dancing against the surrounding forest. Wolves from every family in the pack had come dressed in their finest clothes, whispering eagerly about the most important moment of the night—the discovery of fated mates. For most wolves, it was a moment of joy, the beginning of a lifelong bond chosen by destiny itself. But for Aria Vale, the festival felt less like a celebration and more like a reminder of everything she lacked.

Aria stood near the edge of the clearing where the light barely reached, quietly observing the crowd. She had learned long ago that it was easier to stay out of sight. Growing up in Bloodridge Pack had never been easy for her. While other wolves trained and grew stronger, Aria had always been considered weak. Her wolf awakened late, and when it did, it showed little of the strength expected from a pack warrior. Because of that, the other wolves rarely took her seriously. Some pitied her, while others mocked her openly. Even tonight, as the festival filled the air with excitement, Aria could hear whispers when people noticed her standing alone. But she tried not to let it bother her. Deep inside, a strange feeling had been growing all evening—a restless pull in her chest that she couldn't explain.

As the moon rose higher, the pull suddenly became stronger. Aria's breath caught when a powerful scent drifted through the air, warm and commanding, unlike anything she had ever felt before. Her wolf stirred instantly inside her mind, restless and alert. Mate. The word echoed softly in her thoughts, making her heart race. Confused, Aria lifted her eyes and searched the crowd until her gaze landed on two men standing near the center of the clearing. The moment she saw them, the strange feeling in her chest exploded into something undeniable. The men were impossible to miss. Kael Draven, the powerful Alpha of Bloodridge Pack, stood tall and imposing with golden eyes that radiated authority. Beside him was Lucian Voss, the equally feared Alpha of the neighboring Shadowfang Pack, his calm silver gaze observing everything around him. Both were known as legendary warriors. And somehow… fate had tied them to her.

The realization struck Aria like lightning. The bond she felt wasn't coming from just one of them—it was coming from both. Her wolf surged with excitement, confirming what her mind struggled to accept. Two fated mates. It was something almost unheard of among werewolves. Trembling slightly, Aria stepped forward through the crowd, drawn toward them by a force she couldn't resist. Wolves nearby began whispering in confusion as they noticed her approaching the two Alphas. When Kael's golden eyes suddenly locked onto hers, his expression changed instantly. Lucian felt it too; his calm gaze sharpened as the bond between them flared into existence. For a brief moment, Aria believed that fate had finally given her something extraordinary.

But the moment shattered almost as quickly as it began. Kael's expression hardened as he looked at her more carefully, and Lucian's gaze turned cold with quiet calculation. The warmth Aria expected never appeared. Instead, Kael spoke in a voice that carried clearly through the silent clearing. "Yes," he said calmly, "we feel the bond." Relief flooded through Aria's chest, but it lasted only a second. "But that doesn't mean we will accept it." The words struck her like a physical blow. Murmurs spread across the crowd as confusion turned into shock. Aria stared at them, unable to believe what she had heard. "You… you're my mates," she whispered, her voice trembling. Lucian stepped forward slightly, his tone distant and controlled. "You come from a weak bloodline," he said bluntly. "The packs would never accept someone like you as Luna." Kael's voice followed, colder than before. "We reject you, Aria Vale."

Pain exploded through her chest as the sacred bond snapped violently, tearing through her soul. Before she could even catch her breath, Lucian delivered the second rejection. The connection shattered completely, leaving Aria collapsed on her knees while whispers erupted around her. The two Alphas turned away as if nothing important had happened, already walking back toward the pack house. To them, the moment meant nothing. But as Aria knelt on the cold ground beneath the glowing moon, something strange began to stir deep inside her chest—something ancient, powerful, and completely unfamiliar. And just as the pain slowly faded, a quiet voice echoed inside her mind, sending a chill down her spine.

"So… the Alphas rejected the future Queen."
