Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: Hell in the Dungeon and the Extreme Clash of Father and Daughter

The bright lights and luxuries of the Junagarh palace are now a gray dream to Sushila and Shilajit. After the judgment of the royal court, they have found their place in a dark, damp underground cell of the palace. Under the influence of the special antidote prepared by the royal physician, the form given to them by the witch has vanished forever. Now, whether it is night or day—they live constantly with that hideous, bronzed skin and the grotesque appearance of a rotting face. A foul stench emanates from their bodies, and behind those narrow bars, they are exploding at each other in fits of jealousy.

Sitting on that filthy prison floor, Sushila has now lost all sense of reason. Her silk saree has turned into rags. She suddenly lunged at Shilajit with her hideous hands. Gnashing her teeth, she began using disrespectful terms— "It's because of you! Only because of you am I in this state, you old devil! If you hadn't brought that fake poison, and if you had told me about the magic mirror earlier, I would be sitting on the throne of Junagarh today! Because of following your intellect, I am rotting in this hell today!"

Shilajit, stroking his toothless mouth, roared, "Watch your tongue, Sushila! I am your father! It was by my intellect that you lived in royal comfort for so long. Why did you yourself leak all your secrets in front of that maid Snigdha? If you hadn't performed that 'Lungi Dance' and 'Gorilla Dance' dressed as a lady, would anyone have suspected us? You are a complete lunatic; it's because of you that I've lost my ministership and now have to die with this hideous face!"

Sushila could no longer bear it. Losing all control, she leaped upon Shilajit in a single bound. Grabbing a few strands of Shilajit's white hair in her fist, she shook him violently and screamed, "Shut up! Just shut up! You made me a pawn in your game to secure your own future. Today, I will pluck out that beard of yours!" Shilajit cried out in agony and delivered a powerful kick to Sushila's stomach. Sushila was thrown back, crashing against the prison wall, but the next moment, she roared like a maddened ghoul.

Sushila got up from the floor, ran, and delivered a forceful kick to Shilajit's back. As Shilajit fell face-first, Sushila sat on top of him and began slapping him haphazardly with both hands. Shilajit somehow freed himself and counter-attacked. He gave a sharp tug to Sushila's leg, and as she fell to the floor, Shilajit kicked her hard in the cheek. With that one kick from Shilajit's foot, one of Sushila's front teeth became loose, and Shilajit himself, unable to maintain his balance, hit the corner of the wall and lost his last two teeth.

Wiping blood from his toothless mouth, Shilajit groaned, "Look! Look at what state I am in because of you! Even my teeth are broken!" Sushila then distorted her hideous face and made a mocking gesture, "Serves you right! It's better for an old devil like you to have no teeth than to have them. Now go and chew grass!" Sushila then became even more violent, kicking Shilajit's back and rolling him from one corner of the jail to the other like a football.

Both of them do not know that Arohi is alive. They think that the ordinary maid named Snigdha found out all their secrets and told the Maharaja. Sushila began to shout, "If I could get that small fry Snigdha today, I would swallow her raw! That girl finished everything for us. I didn't know that a mere maid would turn out to be such a big venomous serpent!" Panting, Shilajit said, "Yes, that girl is the reason for our destruction. However, if you hadn't danced like a snake in front of her, she probably wouldn't have understood anything."

All night long, the foul verbal abuse and kicking between the father and daughter continued in that dark prison. Sometimes Sushila would pinch Shilajit's ears, and sometimes Shilajit would grab Sushila's hair and bash her head against the wall. Hearing their diabolical screams, even the prison guards put their fingers in their ears and walked away. They are now trying to vent the consequences of their own sins upon each other. In that filthy corner of the jail, there are no royal dreams now, only hatred, hideous faces, and endless brawling. They did not know that Arohi is now dreaming of a new life beside Aditya in the light of the palace, while they will die in this darkness, tearing each other apart bit by bit.
