Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Knock, knock, knock.Ava yelled out from outside the door, "Your dad and Greg are back, Felicia." Felicia set down her picture album and stood up to leave. Her expression brightened when she saw them enter. "Dad, Greg!" Both Greg and Colton grinned as they turned to face her.I brought you a gift, Felicia. Come on over here. "Open it up!" Greg exclaimed, gesturing for her to approach. Curious, Felicia rushed over.

"What is it?" After placing a number of shopping bags on the coffee table, Greg took out a jewelry box and gave it to her. "Here." She let out a tiny gasp when she opened the box. A lovely gold bracelet that was expertly crafted and glittered in the light was inside. "Greg, thank you. I adore it.Greg smiled and ruffled her hair, saying, "That's all I wanted." Nor had he forgotten Ava.

He brought skincare packs for both women and presented her a gold bracelet that complemented her fashion sense. Colton received tea, a great bottle of alcohol, and some regional sweets from his journey. At that moment, the entire room felt particularly comfortable, and everyone was content and at ease. Felicia always felt most at ease and able to breathe at home. When is your due date, Felicia?

Greg looked at her stomach and inquired. She appeared as though she might be ready to give birth at any moment.Felicia answered, "I still have two months left. "I'm calling it now, you're definitely having a girl," Ava chuckled. Felicia gave a nod. "Yeah, it's a girl."You're aware already?" Colton raised an eyebrow in question. Ava was a little nervous, so she must have realized something. Felicia gave another nod. "Yeah, but Miranda's really excited about the baby." Colton exhaled.

"That's excellent. You and Max will eventually sort things out as long as you have the child." Felicia looked down, her heart beginning to pound. She was unsure of how to inform them that Max had submitted a divorce request. She couldn't keep it a secret for very long, especially since she had made the decision to leave Oakridge Estate and return home. She decided to hold off on speaking until after supper.

Ava had made a large meal, the The table was almost piled high with food. Greg has been very busy lately with the tech business he founded with a friend. Colton had handed Greg the initial money without thinking twice when they were first starting out two years ago. Now operating mostly in Al, the business was doing fantastic. Greg had recently traveled to sign a significant cooperation agreement, and everything went according to plan. Colton, meanwhile, was in the process of selling his own business.

Although the Hawthornes' money had been helpful for a while, the market remained difficult and a comeback was just not feasible. When Greg's business began raising money at the end of the year, he decided to sell and put everything he had into it because he was getting older and didn't have the same vigor. Colton then gave some positive news. At last, he and Ava were going to get married.

Tears glistened in Ava's eyes. She was finally having her happily ever after after all those years together. Felicia had nothing to complain about. She was aware that her father had never wed Ava because he was unable to let go of her mother. She never quite comprehended the reasons behind her mother's initial separation from him. However, that was no longer relevant. The day was just ideal. Felicia simply couldn't bear to spoil it.
