The moment Wanda stepped out of the light portal, she felt her life split into two halves.
Her first half of life was filled with the hatred of Sokovia.
And now…is this Heaven?
The dazzling sunlight was so warm it brought tears to her eyes.
The gentle sea breeze caressed her long hair, sweeping away years of accumulated gloom.
The crisp cries of seagulls and the calming sound of waves filled her ears.
She stood barefoot on a floor so polished it reflected her image.
Not the perpetually unclean rubble and dirt of Sokovia.
It was too bright here, so bright she could barely open her eyes.
It was too quiet here, so quiet she thought she was hallucinating.
It was too clean here.
So clean that she hid her dust-covered hands behind her back, afraid of dirtying anything.
She looked up, seeing the endless ocean through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The sea surface sparkled, as if strewn with diamonds.
Where was this?
Wanda was stunned.
She didn't know where this was.
But she still greedily breathed in the air.
Pietro was in an even worse state than her.
The moment he stepped out of the light portal, he immediately pulled Wanda behind him.
He constantly observed his surroundings, trying to understand everything before his eyes.
Is this a house?
No, this was not a house at all.
This was a palace!
He had never seen such a luxurious place.
Simple walls, flowing lines, and various furniture and equipment he had never seen before.
There was also a holographic projection screen floating in the air, displaying things he couldn't understand at all.
Everything here exuded the scent of money and power.
They were like beggars who had suddenly crashed a king's banquet.
Everything around them mocked their poverty and insignificance.
Did this guy bring them out just to humiliate them?
What did he take Wanda for? A trophy he could possess at will?
Unforgivable!
Pietro's eyes turned dangerous, he stared at Leon's back, his body slightly leaning forward.
However, before he could make a move, Leon had already turned around.
Leon didn't look at him, but spoke to the empty living room.
"Jarvis."
"Always at your service, Mr. Leon."
A gentle voice suddenly echoed in the hall.
Pietro and Wanda were startled, looking around warily, trying to find the source of the voice.
Was it someone hiding?
"Prepare two rooms for the two guests."
Leon paced to the huge floor-to-ceiling window, stood with his hands behind his back, gazing at the distant sea horizon, as if admiring his territory.
"Also, prepare some fitting clothes and food. I imagine they must be hungry."
Both of their reactions were in his eyes.
Shock, confusion, wariness, and inferiority.
These emotions were all he needed.
What he had to do was to defeat their Worldview and dignity.
Then, using the bestowed power and status, reshape a new World for them.
As for what he said to Wanda.
That was, of course, intentional.
To deal with a girl like Wanda, who is sensitive, lacks love, and yearns for a sense of belonging.
What could be more soul-stirring than a promise of identity?
This is called 'painting a pie'.
First, give her a dream that is out of reach, yet irresistible.
Then, slowly make her willingly offer everything to pursue this dream.
The art of power, not only Loki knows.
Leon smiled slightly, no longer thinking about these things.
"Understood, Mr. Leon." Jarvis's voice sounded again.
"Guest rooms are ready, located on the east side of the fourth floor, with the best sea views. Clothing sizes have been matched via scan, and the latest fashion will be delivered by drone within ten minutes.
As for food, Mr. Stark's Michelin restaurant is preparing wagyu beef for lunch. Should it be delivered to them now?"
"Yes." Leon nodded.
"Additionally." He added.
"Grant them full access to the Villa, except for Tony's former underground workshop."
"Understood, Mr. Leon." Jarvis responded quickly.
Pietro and Wanda were bewildered.
Scan? Drone? Mr. Stark's restaurant?
Stark?!
Pietro's pupils constricted; he realized a fact.
This was Tony Stark's home?!
"You and Tony Stark are in cahoots?!!!"
Pietro was enraged, feeling deceived.
The so-called truth Leon told them, he now considered a lie!
What HYDRA, what Obadiah… it was all a deception!
This man was Stark's accomplice!
He tricked him and his sister here just to humiliate and toy with them!
Jarvis's response, Stark's name… all the clues connected… he thought he and his sister were doomed.
"Ah!!"
Pietro let out a desperate growl and lunged at Leon's back!
He didn't know where his speed came from; he only knew that he had to kill this guy, he had to perish with this hypocritical god!
His speed was very fast, so fast that it left a faint Shadow in the air!
However… just before his fist was about to touch the back of Leon's heart.
Leon casually waved his hand backward.
Buzz!
Pietro felt like he had hit a wall!
The next second, he was gently pushed away.
"Bang."
Pietro fell to the floor in a disheveled heap, letting out a muffled thud.
He wasn't injured, but his heart was more shaken than if he had been hit by a cannonball.
What happened?
He hadn't even touched the other person!
....
