Chapter 78 - Chapter 78

"You're lying!"

Pietro subconsciously retorted.

"What evidence do you have?!"

"Evidence?" Leon laughed.

"I don't need evidence," he said arrogantly.

"Because what I say is the truth."

"You..." He looked at them with pity.

"You are merely insignificant sacrifices in a conspiracy."

Leon decided to drop another bomb.

"Did you think that war was just a simple civil war and NATO intervention?"

"You're wrong."

"Behind the war, there is an organization manipulating it. They infiltrated NATO, infiltrated the U.S. government, and infiltrated Sokovia's militia organizations."

"They deliberately provoked the war, funded Terrorists, and used weapons provided by Obadiah Stane to create countless tragedies like those of your parents."

"What they need is hatred. They need Sokovia's unhealing soil so they can conduct some kind of experiment in the future."

Leon stood up and slowly paced to the window, looking down at the city.

"That organization, their name, is HYDRA."

HYDRA.

Pietro and Wanda's faces turned pale.

As Sokovians, they had heard that name!

HYDRA was the demon of World War II, the legend of Red Skull, a bedtime story the older generation used to scare children!

"You're crazy..." Pietro suppressed his anger.

"HYDRA was destroyed by Captain America a long time ago!"

"Destroyed?" Leon turned around, his tone playful.

"Then why do you think Captain America disappeared? Why did the founder of Stark Industries, Howard Stark, and his wife die in an accidental car crash?"

"Why has your homeland fallen into endless conflict?"

"Because they were never destroyed at all."

"They merely hid, festering in the Shadow of the World. Your hatred is exactly what they love to see. It perfectly covers up their crimes."

Pietro fell into confusion.

If what he said was true... then what was their nine years of hatred for?

A joke?

They treated the real murderers as a myth, but considered irrelevant scapegoats as their lifelong target of revenge?

No, this was too absurd.

"I don't believe it..." Pietro retreated two steps, looking distraught.

However, Wanda had been staring intently at Leon.

Her breathing became rapid, her chest heaving violently.

Something within her was awakening.

"You..." Wanda's voice trembled.

"Is what you said true?"

She didn't doubt Leon.

Because the power deep within her soul resonated strongly with Leon!

She could feel that this man was not lying.

She could feel that the power on him was the nemesis of lies.

"Of course I'm telling the truth, Wanda."

Leon smiled slightly.

"And I'm not just here to tell you the truth."

His gaze fell on Wanda's hand.

"I'm here more for you, or rather, for you."

"Me?" Wanda took a step back, bumping into Pietro's arms.

"Yes, you." Leon smiled mysteriously.

"Why do you think HYDRA wanted to experiment in Sokovia? What were they looking for?"

"They were looking for people like you."

Leon slowly raised his hand, and a soft golden divine Fire ignited in his palm.

"Do you think that your occasional dimming of light bulbs and dropping of cups are just your imagination?"

"No, Wanda. That is your innate power."

"Chaos magic."

Wanda felt something deep within her soul let out an excited roar!

It has a name?!

"HYDRA has already set their sights on you," Leon continued, but told a lie.

"They will come for you soon. They will take you away, lock you in a laboratory, torture you with instruments, try to activate the power within you, and turn you into their weapon of war."

"No!!" Pietro roared, shielding Wanda behind him.

"I won't let them take her!!"

"You?" Leon looked at him with pity.

"How will you stop them? With your legs that run a little faster than others?"

"Or with your hatred?"

Pietro froze.

Yes, how could he stop them?

He had already realized that he couldn't even defeat Leon.

What could he use to fight HYDRA?

"But..."

Leon changed his tone, and the divine Fire in his palm burned even brighter, illuminating the apartment as warm as spring.

"You still have me."

He walked forward, looking at the two of them.

"I'm here to give you a third choice."

"First, stay here, continue to hate Stark, and then wait for HYDRA's scientists to come to your door and turn you into a monster."

"Second, run away with your brother, then hide and seek until you are caught or starve to death."

"Third..."

Leon extended his hand to Wanda.

"Come with me."

"I, Leon Odinson, Prince of Asgard, future King of Gods."

"I will personally teach you, Wanda, how to control the Chaos within you. I will make you the Master of power, not its slave."

"I will grant Pietro true speed, speed as fast as lightning, so you can protect your sister."

"As for your hatred..."

Leon smiled confidently.

"These people are nothing to fear."

"Come with me, I will not only give you truth and power."

"I will give you the right to take revenge with your own hands."

Pietro:???

Asgard? Prince? King of Gods?

This guy is a god?

There are stories of the Sun god and Odin in Sokovian legends... could all of this be true?

He looked at Wanda.

He found that Wanda was staring blankly at the golden flames in Leon's palm.

There was no fear in her eyes, but rather a moth-to-a-Fire-like longing.

The power deep within her soul was cheering.

It was telling her to grasp that hand.

Grasp that light.

Wanda slowly raised her hand.

Pietro was stunned, and then he sighed.

He knew Wanda's choice.

And his choice would always be consistent with Wanda's.

"We'll go with you."

Pietro pulled Wanda and walked together to Leon.

Pietro raised his head, gathering all his courage, and looked directly at Leon.

"But you must promise that you will not harm Wanda! You cannot use her as a weapon!"

Leon was first surprised by the words, then let out a laugh.

"Weapon?"

He reached out, not to take Wanda's outstretched hand, but rather to gently lift Wanda's chin with his finger, forcing her to look up.

He gazed into her eyes and spoke gently.

"She is Scarlet Witch Wanda, how could she be a weapon?"

"You are much stronger than your brother."

Wanda:???

Pietro: "???"

Leon smiled slightly.

Very good.

The future commander of the magic legion was acquired.

He shook his head, turned around, and casually waved his hand.

A brilliant golden light door unfolded on the apartment wall.

On the other side of the light door was a sunny Villa.

"Let's go." Leon stepped in first.

"Welcome to the life of a god."
