Chapter 118 - Superbad Premiere II

SF Chapter 118: Superbad Premiere II

In another corner of the theater, the nerd group had gathered together.

Howard was looking enviously at Dani and the group of girls around him. "God, it's like he has the entire Avengers team surrounding him. Except in this case, they're popular, gorgeous actresses."

Nobody paid much attention to him, since Sheldon was indifferent to all of it, and Raj was busy making an annoyed face at Leonard.

"Hey, it's not my fault my cousin Ross ended up with your sister, Raj," Leonard defended himself. "You should blame Dani."

Howard joined the conversation. "You could do the same. Isn't that brunette over there your cousin, Leonard?" He gestured with his head toward Monica.

"Yes, that is her. Ross's sister. Monica," he confirmed.

"I can forgive your family," Raj said, instantly changing his opinion when he saw her.

"Hey, how about you go talk to her and I go for the blonde?" Howard said, pointing at Rachel. But he quickly changed his mind when he saw Joey approaching the group.

"Anyway," he changed the subject, "Daniel told me my name will be in the credits. For some jokes I helped with."

-------‐-----------‐-----------‐-----------‐-----------‐---------

Oblivious to Howard's total delusion that he had any chance with Rachel, Dani kept talking with the five girls.

"Lexi!" a female voice called out.

Anna Kendrick, one of the actresses in the movie, came over to hug her friend.

"Anna," Lexi said with a smile.

After taking a look around, the girl said, "Hey, so you're Dani? Is your next movie a harem teen comedy?" she joked bluntly, noticing the number of girls around him.

Dani took her hand. "Nice to finally meet you, Anna."

"We just met, but I already love the way you think. That is a great idea. A harem teen comedy!"

He received some not-so-subtle judgmental looks.

Lexi deadpanned, "We're going to sit over there," she pointed out, making her, Mischa, and Penny head down the stairs.

"Wow, I didn't know Hilary would be here," Lindsay ended up murmuring as she saw the blonde teen entering the theater, but Dani overheard her.

"I went to her sweet sixteen party, and I invited her here," he commented.

Dani glanced from Lindsay to Hilary, who was farther away, "What is it?"

Lindsay sighed, but exposed, since it was not exactly a secret, "Aaron, my boyfriend, is Hilary's ex."

"Uh, are you a cat burglar, Lindsay?"

Amanda tried not to laugh, while Lohan shot him a glare.

They changed the subject and talked a little more until each of them drifted off to a different corner to talk and do some networking.

Dani walked over to his mother, who had a look on her face that clearly said she wanted to talk to him.

"Hey, Mom, did you have a good trip?" he asked, since she had gotten back last night.

"Not bad," she replied, but then quickly made a face. "I hear you threw a family party to show off your new house," Evelyn said accusingly.

Dani chuckled. "Mom, you were staying at a six-star hotel right in front of the Champs-Élysées."

Evelyn merely narrowed her eyes, but did not push it any further.

But after taking a better look at her son's face, she took his hands.

"It will be alright," Evelyn said, giving her son a rare moment of comfort as she patted his hands with hers.

"Wow... Mom," he muttered.

"Besides, Mommy needs this movie to be at least half as successful as your last one," she added. "Mommy needs some new jewelry."

"That sounds more like you, Mom," Dani laughed, not minding her twisted kind of love.

"Where are your brothers, anyway?"

"Alan is coming. He dropped Jake off at Sis' house," he said, glancing around, "and Charlie... I have no idea."

She spotted a familiar face. "I'm going to talk to the director. Just make sure your brother doesn't cause some kind of scandal that ends up in the papers."

"Hey, you still remember I'm the youngest, right?" he mocked, watching his mother walk away.

"Huh, where could Charlie be?" Dani muttered.

-------‐-----------‐-----------‐-----------‐-----------‐---------

"The door just opened," Charlie's urgent voice was heard.

Dani headed in that direction and found his brother.

"Oh, hey, Daniel, this place is already occupied," Charlie remarked, trying to smile at his brother.

"Come on, bro. This is my premiere!" Daniel said, annoyed. "Lock the door! So no one has any chance of walking in on you!" he scoffed.

If Alan were here, he would totally glare at his two brothers. One was having sex in the coatroom, while the other was acting like the only real problem was not locking the door.

"You know this could be a huge problem if any reporter finds out," Dani added. "And hi, Pheebs."

"Hi, Dani," Phoebe's face appeared from behind the coat rack.

"Bro, you better hurry. Mom is here, and she'd kill you if she found out what you're doing," Daniel told his brother.

"Yeah, I think we should do this later," Charlie said as he walked out, already fixing the zipper on his pants. He was not in the mood anymore.

He turned to his brother. "How did you find us?"

Daniel explained, "Well, I did it in the coatroom at my dad's wedding - which you also had the idea to do, but you got there after me. And you did it in the coatroom at our brother's wedding..."

"The coatroom is becoming a Harper thing," he smirked.

Charlie chuckled.

Phoebe, on the other hand, admonished them, "Boys, you two are a mess!"

The brothers just stared at her.

Phoebe shrugged. "What? I can be part of the problem and still recognize the problem."

Dani and Charlie exchanged a look. "That's fair!" they said together.

-------‐-----------‐-----------‐-----------‐-----------‐---------

"Where were you, Pheebs?" Monica asked her friend as she sat down beside her.

The blonde gestured behind her. "At the coatroom."

Chandler and Rachel, who were nearby, just nodded, already used to their friend's eccentric behavior.

No one asked anything else, and Phoebe merely smirked in amusement.
