Chapter 63 — The Edge of Everything
The wind over the northern cliffs roared like a living thing.
Cold. Violent. Endless.
Mist swirled around the jagged rocks below, waves crashing into the valley with thunder that echoed up the cliffside.
And in the middle of that chaos — everything broke.
Kevin stood near the edge, Ash bound to the chair beside him, the cliff dropping hundreds of feet behind them.
Care's breathing was already uneven from the cold air. Her chest tightened with every breath, but she ignored it.
Cole stood slightly ahead of her, every muscle in his body tense.
Keifer and JJ were flanking the sides.
The rest of the group had spread across the cliff path behind them.
Eighteen people.
One enemy.
One life hanging on the edge.
Ash's eyes fluttered open weakly. The drug still clouded her mind.
Her head tilted.
She saw Care.
Then Cole.
Relief flickered across her pale face.
But Kevin noticed.
And Kevin moved.
He kicked the chair violently.
The chair slid backward toward the cliff edge.
Ash gasped weakly as the legs scraped across the rock.
The back two legs tipped over the edge.
The chair tilted.
Gravity pulled.
"Ash!" Care screamed.
For a split second — the world froze.
Then everything exploded into motion.
Cole's Leap
Cole moved first.
Faster than anyone.
He lunged forward with pure instinct, shoving Kevin away from the chair with brutal force.
Kevin stumbled sideways, barely keeping balance.
At the same moment—
The chair tipped fully backward.
Ash's body slid toward the valley.
But Care was already moving.
Her lungs burned.
Her legs screamed.
But she jumped forward and grabbed Ash's arm just before she slipped over the edge.
The force nearly pulled Care with her.
But Care dropped to her knees, gripping Ash with everything she had.
"Hold on!" Care shouted, voice breaking.
Ash's weak fingers grabbed Care's wrist.
The wind howled around them.
Cole turned back after throwing Kevin aside and immediately dropped beside Care.
Together they pulled Ash upward.
The chair tumbled off the cliff behind them, disappearing into the valley below.
Ash collapsed against Care's arms, trembling and barely conscious.
"I've got you," Care whispered, voice shaking.
"You're safe now."
Ash tried to speak but her head fell against Care's shoulder.

A gunshot echoed.
Lyra Falls
Lyra had already been shot earlier.
The bullet had hit her side.
They had stabilized her temporarily.
But now—
The stress.
The blood loss.
The chaos.
Her body couldn't take it anymore.
Lyra collapsed suddenly.
Alex caught her just before she hit the ground.
"Lyra!" Alex shouted, panic ripping through his voice.
Her body went limp in his arms.
Blood soaked through the temporary bandages.
Too much blood.
Far too much.
"She's losing blood!" Daisy cried.
Alex's hands trembled as he held her.
"Lyra… stay with me… stay with me!"
But her eyes rolled back slightly.
Her breathing slowed.
Joong's face went pale.
"Alex—she's fading!"
Cole heard the words instantly.
He turned away from Kevin.
Lyra came first.
Always.
Cole ran to them immediately.
Cin was already moving beside him.
Both doctors dropped beside Lyra.
Cole pressed hard against the wound.
Blood seeped between his fingers instantly.
"Damn it…" he muttered.
Cin checked her pulse.
Too weak.
"She's hemorrhaging," Cin said sharply.
Alex's voice cracked.
"Save her."
It wasn't a request.
It was a desperate command.
Cole looked up.
For a moment his eyes met Alex's.
"Get the car ready."
Ash Collapses
Meanwhile Ash had slowly tried to stand.
Even drugged, even weak — she saw Lyra collapse.
Her instincts pushed her forward.
She took a few unsteady steps.
"Ash—don't—" Care tried to stop her.
But Ash staggered toward Lyra anyway.
Then her body suddenly gave up.
The heavy drug still in her system finally overpowered her.
Ash collapsed.
Ben caught her just before she hit the ground.
"She's out!" Ben shouted.
Nova immediately dropped beside him.
Daisy rushed over too.
Nova checked her pulse.
Slow.
Very slow.
"She's still under the drug," Nova said quickly.
Ben pulled a syringe from the emergency kit.
"The antidote."
Daisy prepared the injection.
Nova stabilized Ash's airway.
Ben administered the antidote carefully.
"Come on… come on…"
They waited.
Ash didn't wake.
But her pulse began stabilizing.
"She'll survive," Nova said softly.
"But she needs hospital monitoring immediately."
Keifer Takes Control
Everything was chaos.
Two injured.
One unconscious.
Kevin still alive.
Keifer stepped forward.
His voice cut through the storm.
"We move now."
No hesitation.
No panic.
Just command.
He grabbed his car keys.
"My sedan is at the lower road."
He looked directly at Cole.
"Get Lyra to the car."
Cole nodded immediately.
Alex lifted Lyra carefully.
She was barely conscious.
Blood still soaking through the bandages.
Cin pressed harder against the wound.
Joong followed beside them.
They moved fast.
Very fast.
Keifer ran ahead to open the car.
The Race to the Hospital
Lyra was placed in the back seat.
Alex climbed in immediately, holding her.
Cin slid beside him.
Cole took the front passenger seat.
Keifer got behind the wheel.
The engine roared to life.
Keifer didn't wait.
The car shot down the mountain road at terrifying speed.
Inside the car—
Alex held Lyra's hand tightly.
"Stay with me," he whispered.
"Please… stay with me."
Lyra's lips moved weakly.
Her voice was barely audible.
"Alex…"
Her eyes struggled to stay open.
"I'm here," Alex said immediately.
"I'm right here."
Cin kept pressure on the wound.
"Don't let her sleep," he ordered.
Cole monitored her pulse.
Too weak.
Far too weak.
Keifer pushed the car faster.
The hospital lights finally appeared in the distance.
Ash's Transport
Back on the cliff—
Ash was stabilized.
Still unconscious.
JJ and Aries helped lift her carefully.
Care refused to leave her side.
Nova, Ben, and Daisy surrounded her.
They carried Ash to the second vehicle.
Care sat beside Ash, holding her hand the entire ride.
JJ drove.
Aries guided the route.
Care's breathing was still unstable from earlier.
But she ignored it.
Her focus stayed only on Ash.
"You're okay," Care whispered softly.
"You're safe."
Kevin's Arrest
Behind them—
Kevin finally lost.
Percy and Endrix pinned him down.
Kevin struggled violently.
But Percy was stronger.
Endrix locked his arms behind his back.
Police sirens approached.
Kevin laughed bitterly.
"You think this is over?"
Percy glared at him.
"It is for you."
Police officers rushed in moments later.
Kevin Patel was arrested.
Finally.
Hospital Chaos
The hospital erupted into motion when both vehicles arrived.
Lyra was rushed into surgery immediately.
Doctors surrounded her.
Alex refused to leave her side until they physically pushed him back.
"Please," he begged.
"Save her."
Ash was taken to intensive monitoring.
Nova and Ben explained the drug exposure.
Doctors began treatment immediately.
Care sat silently in the waiting area.
Cole arrived minutes later.
His hands were still covered in Lyra's blood.
He sat beside Care quietly.
Neither spoke.
