The violent explosion completely erased what remained of the Shadow King's Royal Palace.
The shockwave sent Asta and the Wizard King flying backward. They tumbled across the ruined ground for dozens of meters before finally stopping, their bodies scorched but still alive.
But Cedric's side told a completely different story.
After releasing the Tailed Beast Ball compressed with extreme Chakra, the expected mutual destruction never came.
At the very moment the energy began to spiral out of control, a massive system window appeared in front of him.
A black rift suddenly tore open in the air.
It was not magic.
It was not Chakra.
It was something else entirely. A higher-dimensional force that devoured everything in its path.
Nidhogg let out a piercing scream.
His dark magic collapsed instantly as the rift pulled him in.
"No! What is this power?!"
He struggled violently, but it was useless.
The rift expanded and swallowed him whole.
Then, just like that, it closed.
Silence.
Cedric dropped to one knee, gasping for air. Every part of his body screamed in pain as he stared at where the rift had been.
The system had done that.
Before he could process it, the ground began to tremble again.
The broken magic circle suddenly pulsed.
Instead of fading, it started absorbing life force from its surroundings.
Cracks spread across the ground.
Black roots burst out violently, growing at an alarming rate.
Within seconds, a massive black tree rose into the sky.
Cedric's eyes widened.
The Divine Tree.
Even though its color was different, he recognized it instantly. It was the same kind of entity used to harvest Chakra itself.
Asta climbed out of the rubble, staring up in shock, "What the hell is that thing?!"
The Wizard King steadied himself, his voice tense, "It's absorbing life energy. If we don't stop it, the entire Clover Kingdom will be drained."
Asta gripped his swords and moved forward, "Then I'll cut it down!"
"That won't work!" Cedric shouted, forcing himself to stand, "That's the Divine Tree. You can't destroy it with normal attacks."
His body was already at its limit.
But he couldn't stop here.
"System, give me another option!"
The response came immediately.
A mission.
Suppress the Divine Tree.
Reward. Six Paths Sage Mode.
Risk. Total bodily collapse.
Cedric clenched his teeth.
"Do it."
Power exploded within him.
A vast, overwhelming force flooded his body. Truth-Seeking Orbs formed behind him, and Six Paths markings spread across his form.
His Chakra surged back to its peak and beyond.
The Wizard King stared in shock, "That power…"
Cedric raised his hand slowly.
"Asta, step back."
His voice was calm, but absolute.
He looked up at the towering Divine Tree, his eyes cold.
"Planetary Devastation."
A black gravitational core formed and shot forward, slamming directly into the roots of the tree.
The effect was immediate.
An overwhelming gravitational force erupted.
The Divine Tree was dragged downward, its massive form collapsing in on itself. Branches shattered, leaves disintegrated, and its entire structure compressed into raw Chakra.
Within moments, it was gone.
As if it had never existed.
Silence filled the battlefield.
Asta stood frozen, his mouth slightly open.
The Wizard King lowered his sword slowly, unable to speak.
Even the arriving Magic Knights stood completely stunned.
This was beyond magic.
Cedric landed on the ground.
The Truth-Seeking Orbs vanished.
The Six Paths markings faded.
His vision blurred.
And then everything went dark.
"Cedric!"
Asta rushed forward and caught him.
When Cedric opened his eyes again, he found himself lying in a palace infirmary.
Sunlight streamed through the window.
It was peaceful.
Too peaceful.
"You're finally awake."
Cedric turned his head.
Asta sat beside him, casually eating an apple.
"How long?" Cedric asked, his voice rough.
"Three days," Asta replied before leaning closer, his eyes shining with curiosity, "Seriously, who are you? That power you used wasn't normal."
Cedric smiled faintly but said nothing.
He pushed himself up and looked out the window.
The sky was clear.
Calm.
For now.
"I'm just someone passing through," Cedric said quietly, stretching his body as he felt the new power within him.
"A guy who wants to see what this world has to offer."
Inside his mind, the system interface lit up again.
A new objective appeared.
Diamond Kingdom.
Underground Sanctuary.
Cedric smirked slightly.
"Looks like things are about to get interesting again."
