Above the ruins of the Shadow King's Royal Palace, sunlight finally broke through the lingering haze, shining down on the devastated land.
The battle was over.
As that black Divine Tree was suppressed by Cedric using his gravity technique, the rampant dark magic faded like a receding tide. The cursed structures lost their twisted forms, collapsing into lifeless black stone.
Cedric exhaled slowly.
The Truth-Seeking Orbs behind him disappeared, and the vast Six Paths Chakra within him gradually calmed. His golden cloak faded, revealing his Black Bulls robe once more. Though exhausted, his eyes remained sharp and alive.
Asta leaned on his sword, breathing heavily.
"Is it really over?"
He turned to Cedric, his expression complicated.
"Cedric, that power just now felt like something way beyond normal. It was like you turned into some kind of god."
Cedric didn't answer right away.
Instead, he looked down at his palm. A small black orb floated there, pulsing faintly with an eerie energy. It was the condensed core left behind from the Divine Tree.
The system prompted him to absorb it.
Cedric smirked slightly and closed his hand.
"Not now."
He stored it away.
Then he looked back at Asta, his usual relaxed expression returning.
"What, still staring? The fight's over. Let's head back."
Before Asta could reply, footsteps echoed across the ruins.
"Asta! Cedric!"
Noelle and Luck arrived with the rest of the Black Bulls. They looked battered but relieved. The moment they saw the destroyed battlefield and the two standing at its center, they froze.
"Did you two really do all this?" Luck asked, his eyes wide with excitement.
"The Shadow King is gone," Cedric replied casually.
Noelle rushed forward, stopping just short when she noticed their injuries.
"You're both seriously hurt..."
Cedric glanced at her and smirked slightly, stepping closer than necessary.
"Worried about me that much? Don't worry, I'm not going down that easily. I'd hate to leave you alone after you started relying on me."
Noelle's face flushed instantly as she turned away.
"Don't say weird things like that!"
On the other side, the Wizard King, Mordred Chester, slowly stood.
William Vangeance rushed over.
"Grandfather, are you alright?"
"I'm fine," the Wizard King replied, though his gaze remained fixed on Cedric.
"That boy possesses a power beyond magic. For Asta to meet him might not be a coincidence."
His grip on his sword tightened slightly.
"Vangeance, issue the order. The threat here is eliminated. All Magic Knights will prepare to withdraw."
A few days later, in the Royal Capital.
Despite efforts to control the news, rumors spread quickly.
"The Black Bulls defeated the Shadow King!"
"I heard the entire battlefield was destroyed!"
"They say a new member named Cedric unleashed power like a god!"
In taverns across the city, exaggerated stories painted Cedric as a monstrous figure with overwhelming strength.
Meanwhile, at the Black Bulls base, the mood was completely different.
"Cheers!"
Captain Yami Sukehiro raised his drink, grinning.
"Not bad, brats. You actually pulled it off."
Asta laughed loudly, lifting his glass.
"Of course! I'm going to become the Wizard King!"
Luck chuckled, patting Asta on the shoulder.
"Yeah, yeah, keep shouting that. But seriously, Cedric, what was that power? That last move was insane."
All eyes turned toward Cedric.
He stared quietly at his drink before looking up.
"That wasn't magic."
He stood and walked toward the window, looking out over the city.
"It's called ninjutsu. Power from another world."
Asta leaned forward, curious.
"Is it stronger than magic?"
"It's different," Cedric replied, turning slightly.
"Magic borrows power from outside. Ninjutsu draws from within."
His gaze sharpened.
"And this world is a lot bigger than you think. What we faced back there was just the beginning."
Noelle frowned slightly.
"You mean there are more people like you?"
Cedric smiled but didn't answer.
Instead, he sat back down.
"Whatever's out there, I'll deal with it when it comes."
Yami watched him silently, sensing something deeper behind those words.
At that moment, a black crow flew in through the window and landed on the table.
It tilted its head and stared directly at Cedric before speaking in a rough voice.
"A storm is rising beneath the Diamond Kingdom. Those who seek the truth should follow."
The crow flapped its wings and flew away.
Cedric stood, eyes following its path.
A faint smile formed on his lips.
"Looks like things are getting interesting again."
Asta immediately jumped up.
"Another mission? Let's go!"
Cedric nodded.
"Yeah. Let's see what's waiting for us this time."
The Black Bulls exchanged excited looks as their fighting spirit ignited once again.
A new adventure had begun.
