A freezing wind howled between the black stone pillars of the palace, sounding like the whispers of countless lost souls.
This massive structure, which had suddenly risen from the ground, radiated an overwhelming and suffocating dark magic.
"Is this the Shadow Palace?" Asta tightened his grip on his swords, his expression serious. Even without stepping inside, his instincts told him this place was far from ordinary.
Beside him, Cedric, wearing the Black Bulls robe, slowly closed his eyes.
"Cedric, what's wrong? Are you not feeling well?" Noelle asked, her voice carrying a hint of concern.
Cedric remained silent for a moment.
In his vision, there was no longer ordinary magic, but countless intersecting lines.
Chakra.
"There's too much," Cedric said as he opened his eyes, a faint purple flicker passing through them. "The energy here is chaotic. Asta, once we're inside, don't use magic carelessly. The air itself is filled with curses."
"Oh, got it!" Asta nodded, even though he did not fully understand.
At that moment, other Magic Knight squads arrived one after another.
The Golden Dawn, Silver Eagles, and Crimson Lion Kings all gathered.
The atmosphere was tense, but under the oppressive presence of the palace, no one dared to act recklessly.
A young noble in ornate armor rode forward on a magical beast.
"So the Black Bulls are here too? Standing around like idiots, planning to hand over all the credit?" he sneered.
Luck clicked his tongue. "This guy again."
Cedric glanced at him briefly, then lost interest.
Yami Sukehiro exhaled smoke. "Ignore him. He's annoying, but not weak. Let's move."
The Magic Knights stepped into the palace.
Inside, the space was far larger than expected, as if they had entered a completely different dimension.
Ancient runes carved into the walls emitted a faint green glow.
Cedric's steps slowed slightly.
Something was wrong.
Suddenly, Cedric grabbed Asta and pulled him aside.
"Move."
Boom.
The ground where Asta had been standing collapsed instantly, and countless black shadows shot upward like claws.
"Whoa! Thanks!" Asta said, startled.
"It's not a person," Cedric said calmly. "It's the palace itself."
He crouched down, touching the shadows.
Within them, he sensed faint traces of Chakra, like something artificially controlled.
Screams echoed from ahead.
"Someone's in trouble," Noelle said.
They rushed forward.
A group of Magic Knights was being overwhelmed by black humanoid shadows rising from the ground.
The creatures had no solid form, yet they devoured magic relentlessly.
Even the noble from earlier was struggling, his composure gone.
"Damn it!" he shouted.
Luck grinned. "This looks fun."
Asta stepped forward. "We can't just leave them!"
He turned to Cedric. "Any ideas?"
Cedric looked at the shadows and smirked slightly.
"Regular magic doesn't work well against them. They're made of darkness and shadow."
He raised his hand.
"But that doesn't mean they're untouchable."
Cedric formed a series of hand signs.
"Fire Style: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet."
A massive dragon of flames surged forward.
The fire was different.
It carried a burning vitality.
The moment it touched the shadows, they shrieked and dissolved instantly.
The battlefield fell silent for a moment.
"What kind of magic is that?" one of the knights muttered.
Even Asta and Noelle stared at Cedric.
Cedric simply brushed his hands together.
"Let's move. I don't like being surrounded by trash while I'm working."
Luck laughed and charged ahead.
"Now this is more like it!"
The Black Bulls followed, their fighting spirit igniting.
Deep within the Shadow Palace, something stirred.
A pair of ancient eyes slowly opened.
"Interesting... this energy..."
"It feels like something from another world."
