Alan said as he looked at Quash's rank after he defeated Alicia. His voice dripping with envy, making Quash smile involuntarily.
It felt good.

Quash said dismissively in a hushed voice. He didn't want the people near them hear. Someone may get triggered and it may start a verbal war he wants no part of.
The protagonists of the novels get in trouble because they don't know how to keep the voice down after all. And he wasn't like that.
