Slaying a god. This practically impossible feat had actually been accomplished by Absol and the others. When Ho-Oh crashed to the ground, it meant Ash and his team had achieved a monumental feat that many couldn't even fathom.
However, at this moment, Ash didn't care about Ho-Oh's defeat at all. Instead, he stared intensely at the Masked Man and the Swinub in his arms.
"What's wrong? The most troublesome guy should be taken care of now, right?" Green looked at Ash, finding it strange that he was glaring so fiercely at the Masked Man.
Sabrina felt the same way. "Is there something wrong with that Swinub?" Noticing Ash's fixation on the Swinub, Sabrina was also puzzled.
To Sabrina's question, Ash replied with a grim expression, "There's a problem. A huge problem." Staring at the Swinub, Ash patted the ready-to-strike Zigzagoon and said, "Keep your eyes on that Swinub."
"Zigzag!"
After instructing Zigzagoon to watch the Swinub, Ash said with an ugly expression, "The reason that guy was able to capture Ho-Oh... was absolutely because of that Swinub!"
"What?!"
"Hey, hey, hey, you're not joking, right? A Swinub?!"
"That's right, I wouldn't joke at a time like this. That Swinub is the real boss! Everyone, focus your attention on that Swinub! Ignore Ho-Oh!"
Hearing Ash's words, out of absolute trust in him, Mega Absol and the others immediately shifted their gazes to the Swinub. The people watching the battle did the exact same.
"A Swinub? Why is he so on guard against a Swinub?" At this point, people no longer cared that this man calling himself Sebastian was in Team Rocket. They had witnessed his raw strength firsthand. But now, they were even more confused as to why Sebastian was so tense after having just defeated Ho-Oh.
Holding his Swinub, the Masked Man looked at Ash in surprise. "You actually saw through it? I truly didn't expect that. Could you tell me your real name? You are a worthy opponent... and your Pokémon trust you deeply."
Looking at Blissey and Gyarados continuously guarding Ash, the Masked Man seemed to fall into a state of reminiscence.
In response to the Masked Man's pressing question, Ash, who was already preparing to retreat, smiled and said, "Ash. That's my real name. As for why I came here, it's actually quite simple. For love."
"..."
"What?!"
Ash's single sentence didn't just dumbfound the Masked Man; it baffled everyone else watching the battlefield too.
Giovanni, who had already been notified by Ash to prepare to retreat and thus hadn't intervened, was a bit speechless hearing this, even though he knew Ash was telling the truth.
The Masked Man looked at Ash, dumbfounded, and asked, "Are you... messing with me?"
"No. It's the truth. I really came over here because of love."
Saying this, Ash scooped Green up into a bridal carry and said, "If this girl hadn't somehow stumbled into this world by accident, would I have needed to go through all this trouble to save her?"
"This world?" The Masked Man was surprised by Ash's words, but Ash admitted it openly.
"That's right, this world. Otherwise, with my level of strength, I'd definitely have some sort of reputation around here, wouldn't I? This is a cross-dimensional rescue mission in the name of love! So when I say it's for love, I'm absolutely right!"
Hearing Ash's explanation, although they didn't know if it was true, if it was, then his reasoning was completely flawless. However, a certain girl currently being bridal carried by Ash finally couldn't take it anymore.
"Ahhh!!! Ash, you idiot! Why did you just blurt everything out?! Don't you have any shame?!" While shouting, Green continuously pounded her fists against his chest.
Ash maintained a completely straight face and said, "Don't be shy. You should be glad you have a man like me. At least when I say I'm coming to save you, I actually come to save you."
"That doesn't change your idiotic, womanizing habits! Also, could you put me down?! It's really embarrassing!"
"Oh, don't be like that. Look, it seems like we're being broadcast live. Isn't it great to show off our affection in front of everyone and force-feed them some dog food?"
"Great my ass!!!"
And just as Green said that, she was suddenly teleported away. Instead, Sabrina appeared in Ash's arms.
"Hold me now."
"Yes, honey."
"..."
Watching this trio openly flaunting their affection as if no one else was around, the Masked Man and everyone tuning in were utterly dumbstruck.
"Hey... are we going to fight or not..."
"CAW!"
Before the Masked Man could even finish his question, a Honchkrow suddenly appeared behind him, firing an endless barrage of feathers at him. However, just as the feathers were about to hit the Masked Man, they were blocked by layers of thin ice.
Seeing its attack fail, Honchkrow opted for an immediate retreat, just as Ash had instructed beforehand. If the attack doesn't work, run! Adhering strictly to its habit of absolutely obeying Ash's commands, Honchkrow chose to retreat, even though it wanted to try again.
At this point, the Masked Man looked again at Ash, who was still holding Sabrina, and said, "You... did that on purpose?"
"No, holding my wife comes from the bottom of my heart. Honchkrow's probe was just decided from the very beginning."
"Ash, your grip is loosening."
"Oh, oh, sorry!"
Watching Ash quickly adjust his grip to hold Sabrina higher, the Masked Man's eye twitched. "Stop wasting time. Hand over the Marsh Badge!"
"No. I just want to piss you off, so... NOW!"
With Ash's explosive shout, his Pokémon sprang into action.
