Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: The Shadow’s Truth

That night, Rupa dreamed.

She stood alone in Chandrapur, but the village looked different—empty, broken, starving.

People cried. Children begged.

Under the full moon, villagers gathered, desperate.

A voice rose from the darkness.

"Give me the forgotten, and you will survive."

Rupa watched in horror as names were offered—whispered, then erased.

Faces faded. Memories vanished.

She woke with a scream.

The diary lay open beside her bed.

For the first time, a full paragraph was written:

"I was born from hunger and silence.

I am not death.

I am what you left behind."

Rupa's hands shook.

"It's not just a monster," she whispered to Sajib later.

"It's the village's guilt."

Sajib nodded grimly. "Then killing it won't work."

Outside, the moon began to grow brighter.

The final full moon was approaching.

And this time, the shadow would not hide.
