Haelyn groaned in pain. Her face was contorted into a highly dramatic expression of agony, her body arched, and she wailed hysterically. She immediately put her backup plan into action—an alibi to deliver the final blow to Seren.
"It hurts… my stomach hurts so much, Mark!" Haelyn moaned in a hoarse voice.
Mark froze instantly. His anger toward Seren suddenly turned to panic as he saw the woman carrying his child curled up in agony. He dropped Seren's phone onto the table, no longer caring whether it would shatter or not. Mark ran toward Haelyn, kneeling beside her with a deathly pale face.
"Haelyn! Hang in there! What's wrong?!" Mark asked in a trembling voice.
"I... I'm so scared..." Haelyn sobbed. Her gaze darted sharply toward Seren from over Mark's shoulder.
Mark looked up, staring at Seren with eyes filled with hatred—hatred that had now reached its peak. To him, Seren was the cause of all this misery.
