Just then, the door opened. Edmund walked in carrying two large rabbits in his hands.
Ariel's eyes widened slightly. "How did you—?" she started, genuinely surprised.
A satisfied smile pulled at his lips as he stepped inside.
Edmund tilted his head slightly as he closed the door behind him with his foot. "Catch them?"
He raised his eyes to look at her, and only then did he notice what she was wearing.
His throat dried instantly as his eyes ran over her from head to toe.
The soft linen shirt hung loosely on her frame. The fabric was clearly too big for her, yet it still suited her in a quiet, unintentional way.
But what caught his attention most were her bare long slender legs.
The shirt only covered half her thighs, leaving too much of her exposed in a way that made his gaze hesitate longer than it should have.
