Chapter 13 - Changing Fate

Rain poured heavily over the bridge.

The wind howled across the dark river below.

Lena's hands trembled as she held her phone.

The message glowed on the screen.

This is the moment. Change the ending.

Ryan stood only a few steps away now.

His eyes were calm, but there was something dangerous behind them.

"You look scared," he said quietly.

Lena forced herself to speak.

"You pushed me."

Ryan didn't deny it.

Instead, he gave a small smile.

"You remember everything now."

Her heart felt heavy.

"Why, Ryan?" she asked again.

"You could have just walked away."

Ryan sighed.

"You were going to ruin my life."

Lightning flashed across the sky again.

"I worked too hard to build everything," he continued.

"You were just… a problem."

Lena felt tears mix with the rain on her face.

"So the solution was to kill me?"

Ryan shrugged slightly.

"You left me no choice."

He took another step closer.

The edge of the bridge was right behind Lena now.

Cold wind rushed past her.

The same moment.

The same place.

Just like the first time.

Ryan stretched his hand toward her.

"Don't make this harder than it needs to be."

Her phone vibrated again.

She quickly looked down.

Another message appeared.

He will push you again. Move before he touches you.

Lena's heart started racing.

Ryan stepped closer.

One more step.

"Goodbye, Lena."

He suddenly lunged forward to grab her.

But this time—

Lena moved first.

She quickly stepped aside.

Ryan's hand grabbed nothing but air.

He lost his balance for a second.

The wet ground made his foot slip.

His eyes widened in surprise.

Lena watched as Ryan stumbled toward the edge of the bridge.

For a brief moment, their eyes met.

Shock filled his face.

"Lena—!"

But it was too late.

His body tipped backward.

And he disappeared over the railing.

A loud SPLASH echoed through the storm.

The river swallowed him instantly.

Lena stood frozen.

Her heart pounded wildly.

The rain continued falling around her.

For a long moment, she couldn't move.

Then her phone vibrated one last time.

She slowly looked at the screen.

The final message appeared.

You changed the future.

Another message came.

You survived.

Lena's breathing slowly calmed.

But then…

One last message appeared.

Thank you… for saving us.

After that—

The phone screen went dark.

No more messages.

No more warnings.

The future had finally changed.

And for the first time in a long time—

Lena was truly free.
