Chapter 7 - The Future That Already Happened

Lena stared at the message for a long time.

I am the version of you that didn't survive.

Her hands slowly lowered, but her mind was racing.

"This can't be real," she whispered.

How could a dead version of herself send messages?

It sounded impossible.

Yet everything that had happened so far was impossible.

The messages.

The memories.

The bridge.

And Ryan.

Lena quickly typed again.

Lena:

If you are me… prove it.

For a moment, there was no reply.

Then the phone vibrated.

DING.

Because only you would know this.

Another message appeared.

When you were 10 years old, you hid a blue diary under the wooden floor near your bed.

Lena's eyes widened.

Her heart nearly stopped.

No one knew about that.

Not her parents.

Not her friends.

Only her.

She slowly stood up and walked to the corner of her room.

Her hands were shaking.

She moved the small carpet away.

Then she gently lifted the loose wooden board.

Underneath it—

Was the small blue diary.

Exactly where she had hidden it years ago.

Lena felt the air leave her lungs.

"It's really… me."

Her phone vibrated again.

Now do you believe me?

Lena sat down slowly on the floor.

Her mind felt numb.

If the future version of her had died…

Then the warning must be real.

Ryan was somehow connected to it.

But she still couldn't believe it.

Ryan didn't seem like someone who would hurt her.

She typed again.

Lena:

Why would Ryan push me?

The reply came quickly.

Because that night you discovered his secret.

Her heart pounded.

Lena:

What secret?

For the first time, the reply took longer.

Almost like the future Lena was hesitating.

Then finally—

He wasn't the person you thought he was.

Lena frowned.

That answer wasn't enough.

Lena:

Tell me everything.

The phone stayed silent for nearly a full minute.

Then the message finally came.

If I tell you now, you won't believe me.

Another message appeared immediately after.

But tomorrow night…

Her heart beat faster as she read the next line.

Follow Ryan.

The final message appeared slowly.

And you will see the truth yourself.

The screen went dark.

No more messages came.

Lena sat quietly in the middle of her room.

Her mind filled with fear and confusion.

Follow Ryan?

Was she really ready to discover the truth?

Because deep inside her heart…

She felt a terrifying feeling.

The truth might destroy everything she believed.

And if the future Lena was right—

Tomorrow night might decide whether she lived…

Or died again.
