Chapter 2 - Sneaking Out, Breaking Rules

"Omma," Yuni smiled, falling into her mother's arms as Mrs Kim arranged her clothes. Nia wasn't around; she had gone to spend the money she had smuggled from Yuni in the neighborhood.

"How are you, Mom?" Yuni asked, already dressed for the concert and ready with the lies she planned to tell.

"Fine… going somewhere?" Mrs. Kim asked.

"Hm, I'm going out with Bomi," Yuni replied.

"To karaoke?" Mrs Kim's suspicion was obvious.

"No Mom. To the library," Yuni said with a sweet smile.

Mrs Kim scoffed "When did you start reading?"

"Are you calling me dumb now?"

"Of course, I am. The only thing in that head of yours is KJ K music and life history," Mrs Kim said, making Yuni smile inwardly.

"Mom, did you know they released another song? Let me play it for you," Yuni said, taking out her phone.

"Call Bomi."

"What? Why?" Yuni's eyes widened slightly.

"To make sure you're really going to the library"

"Why, Mom? Don't you trust me again?" Yuni feigned a sad face.

"I do, but I don't trust KJ K-pop," her mother replied.

"If you say so, I'll call her," Yuni said, dialing Bomi's number.

"Hello, Bomi."

"Hi, NiNi."

"Mom wants to talk to you."

"Why?"

Before Yuni could say anything, her mother took the phone.

"Hello, Bomi."

"Good day, ma'am."

"Hmm, how is your father?"

"He's fine, ma'am."

"Are you going somewhere with Yuni today?"

"Yes."

"Where?"

"The library. We have a quiz coming up."

"Okay" Mrs. Kim hung up.

She looked at Yuni, who gave her the sweetest smile. Of course, Yuni had planned everything with Bomi.

"See, Mom? I'm a good girl who cares about her books. I promise I'll get good grades this year," She said quickly, taking back her phone before her mother noticed the KJ K wallpaper.

"I pray so," her mother replied.

"See you later Mom," Yuni pecked her mother's cheeks.

"Be careful out there," Mrs. Kim warned.

"I will, Omma," Yuni said, bowing slightly.

Mrs Kim studied her from head to toe. Yuni wore an oversized polo with KJ K boys printed on it, jeans, sandals and a small bag slung across her shoulder. Before she could comment, Yuni had dashed out the door.

"Are you really going to wear that?!" Mrs. Kim shouted, but Yuni was already gone.

Yuni stepped out, smiling.

"You've brainwashed her, right?" a little voice called.

"Yah!" Yuni ran toward Nia, but the little girl

darted away, sticking her tongue out.

"You used my money to buy that stuff!" Yuni accused, pointing at the nylon bag Nia carried.

"It's not your money again, it's mine. Little girls need to eat," Nia said, rubbing her stomach.

"You're an ajumma, not a little girl," Yuni said, folding her arms. She knew Nia hated being called that.

"Stop calling me an ajumma!" Nia frowned.

"That's what you are, witch!" Yuni snapped, turning to leave.

"I'm going to tell Mom where you're going," Nia threatened.

"If you try it, I'll slice your throat," Yuni threatened, pretending to draw a knife across her neck before disappearing, leaving a foaming Nia to storm back inside.

***

In this spacious penthouse lived the KJ K boys, twins who went by Kim Tan, Jimin, and Kyung.

Kim Tan was the oldest, calm and handsome. Jimin and Kyung were the mischievous ones, always bickering over respect, unaware of their celebrity status.

Jimin, in particular, was funny and troublesome.

Kyung was in the kitchen making cupcakes and eggs.

"Add mine too," Jimin said, pressing his phone.

"Says someone with legs and hands," Kyung scoffed.

"Tan!" Jimin called, addressing Kim Tan, who was beside him, legs crossed, absorbed in his phone.

"Hm," Kim Tan replied without looking up.

"Tell Kyung to add mine. I'm craving some," He said, making a baby face.

Kim Tan glanced toward the kitchen counter.

"Kyung, add his," he said, returning to his phone.

"I won't," Kyung said, heading to the fridge for a drink. Jimin grinned and got up.

"I'm not here," Kim Tan chuckled, knowing what his little brother was up to.

"Don't worry, you'll enjoy it with me," Jimin said, tiptoeing toward the counter.

"Bring it on," Kim Tan said, rubbing his temples.

Jimin was about to dig in when Kyung spotted him.

"Jimin!" Kyung yelled, running after him.

But Jimin was fast, escaping with the plate.

"Give me my food!" Kyung shouted.

"Our food, you mean!" Jimin laughed, running toward the entrance.

Kyung caught up, and the two began tugging the plate back and forth.

They didn't notice someone entering the house,The plate slipped, splattering food on the person in the black suit.

"Mr Park!" They exclaimed in shock.

"We're sorry, Mr Park," they said in unison.

"It's okay, not a new thing," Mr. Park said, heading toward the bathroom. He was their manager.

"Get ready, boys. We're leaving in a few hours," he added.

"Mr Park, you just damaged a very interesting movie for me!" Kim Tan sighed and walked toward his room, annoyed that Mr Park had spoiled his free entertainment.

"Sorry Tan. You watch free movies all the time, you must be tired of them already," Mr. Park chuckled.

"This one was really interesting."

"You!" Kyung pointed at Jimin.

"What?" Jimin asked.

"Clean that up," Kyung said, walking away, furious.

"Come and make me," Jimin teased.

"We'll continue from where we left off after the concert," Kyung muttered.
