Chapter 42 - chapter 35: The lie.

Dark Vash:"how 'bout we have some fun, huh?"

Vash stared at him like a he had just seen a ghost.

The dark Vash slowly hummed and walked closer to him.

He stabbed both the blades into the floor and raised his arms while giving a friendly wave.

Vash:"Huh?"

Vash looked at the blades on the floor and then back at dark Vash.

Not sure what to think of the situation.

Dark Vash shove his hands into his pockets and looked at Vash.

Still having the same friendly but eerie attitude.

He looked at Vash like he was waiting for him to talk, but—

When vash didn't say anything, he decided to talk himself—

Dark Vash:"You know, you're no fun."

"Man, I just dropped my weapons and waved at you, at least you can say hello or hi?"

"What?"

"Too shocked to speak now?"

The dark Vash talked way too casually.

Like a person who had stopped listening to his emotions and just decided to enjoy his life.

And.

Vash couldn't understand why he's like this.

"Haa~"

"Is it because of how I look?"

"Eh.. Forget it."

"This is how you are inside your brain."

Vash froze at that.

Did he?

Just say "in his brain"?

His grip tightened on his blades as he was in even more alert.

Just then, dark Vash chuckled and tilted his head to the other side.

"Heh~"

"That look on your face."

"You're smarter than you let out of your brain, you know?"

"So, if I am right."

"You already know what I mean."

His voice dropped cold.

"Don't you?"

Vash narrowed his eyes.

Vash:"What do you even know about me?"

Dark Vash shrugged his shoulders and chuckled again.

Dark Vash:"You know."

"You're not asking the right question."

A bead of sweat rolled down Vash's forehead as he gulped slowly.

Vash:"Wh– what do you mean?"

"Am I supposed to ask you questions?"

"I thought this was the last quest for job change."

Dark Vash kicked on the dust and looked slightly—

Disappointed?

Vash didn't know.

Dark Vash took a long and deep breath before continuing.

Dark Vash:"Yep, you're absolutely right."

"I am the last quest before you can go.... And meet your "sweet" Family."

He said it in a mocking attitude that made Vash even more uncomfortable.

"What?"

"Not confident in defeating yourself?"

"Ah~"

"If I remember correctly."

"You're scared of yourself."

Vash froze.

His jaws tightened as the nerves popped near his collar.

Dark Vash looked and laughed.

Loud.

Maniac.

Like anything —

But Vash.

"Ah~"

"About the right questions."

"I should tell you what are the right questions, shouldn't I?"

"Also, You might be thinking."

He straightened up and mimicked Vash's current attitude.

"Just what the hell is he talking about?.. Huh?"

"This motherfucker keeps talking bullshit that I don't understand— hahahahah!"

He clapped and paced around while making playful sounds like: "woo! , aah!"

Vash kept staring in confusion.

"I did right, right?"

"You exactly think like that when the situation isn't predictable."

Vash:"sh– shut the hell up."

He said like he had gritted teeth.

His eyes had gotten even narrower after listening to dark Vash mocking him continuously.

Dark Vash saw him and lets out a low whistle.

Dark Vash:"oh!"

"You stabbed me right where I am weak."

He walked closer to him while holding his mock hurt heart.

"See, see, see."

He came while repeating "see" as Vash got alert and—

Dark Vash landed a hard punch right on his nose.

Vash:"Gah!"

Vash was taken off guard and sent flying to the wall that broke from the force he hit on it.

"Kuh—, cough cough!"

Dark Vash laughed again and suddenly remembered something.

Dark Vash:"Oh, uh."

"Sorry, I forgot to tell you the right questions."

"Oof, man."

"I am such a asshole, uh-huh?"

"I hit you when you weren't expecting."

"Haha~"

He eyes narrowed with cold amusement.

"You know very well about how you fight in your brain."

"Am I wrong?"

"Va.ru.n"

Vash froze.

He eyes trembled.

"Hah!, hahahahaha!!"

The laugh reached his ears but—

It hit his brain.

His brain was moving miles per seconds just trying to understand what he mean and how does he know all that.

Dark Vash came closer to Vash and crouched in front of him.

"What?"

"That didn't rung the bell either?"

"Man, what a idiot are you in your conscious brain?"

"Haa~"

He grabbed Vash by his hair.

Vash:"Khek!?"

He dragged him all the way to his throne and left on the stairs.

He sat on the throne as Vash held his head where he gripped his hair.

He leaned onto his knees and stared right into Vash's eyes.

Dark Vash:"I am you."

"The you, who you always keep locked."

Pause.

He grabbed his hair and forced him to look into his eyes.

Vash:"kuh–!"

Dark Vash:"The you, who killed her."

Vash froze yet again.

His brain asking the questions loudly inside: "How does he know that!?, How does he know her?!"

Vash opened his mouth to say something.

But nothing came out.

His eyes widen as he started to choke on his own breaths.

His eyes trembling violently as sweat rolled down his head like a waterfall.

He wasn't able to say anything as his whole body trembled.

Even though the injury on his face was gone and there was no other damage.

He wasn't able to stop his trembling body.

After a moment, even his breathing started to tremble.

Dark Vash stared at him, his eyes still showing the same eerie amusement.

Vash gulped as many times as possible.

His mouth couldn't stop salivating.

The tears came out non-stop as kept wiping them.

After a long moment of trying to calm himself down, he said—

Vash:"I—.."

"I di– didn't."

"I do–do– don't."

"I didn't... Mean to."

"Tha– that."

"That was."

"An acc– acci– accident!"

Dark Vash lets out a low chuckle and placed his foot on Vash's shoulder.

Dark Vash:"Haa~"

"Now, now."

"What am I supposed to do with that reaction?"

"I am not a human, bro."

"You know very well that your subconscious brain have literally no knowledge about how to calm down a emotionally broken person."

"Heh~"

"Well, at least you're not ugly like others when you cry."

He just gave a light push with his foot on Vash's shoulder as Vash fell down the stair.

Dark Vash lets out another chuckle and leaned his head on his fist of the arm that was resting on the armrest.

"You say that was an accident."

His voice suddenly dropped cold once more.

"Don't fuck around with me."

"You know very well about."

"How you killed her. "

Silence.

He lets out a long sigh and said—

"Stop. Lying. To. Yourself."

"You know very well.. That it was your fault she died."

"Park Sora died because you left her there."
