Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

The noise in the convention hall shifted.

It wasn't the excited screaming from before.

Now there were confused voices, people standing, security moving quickly through the aisles.

On stage, the host tried to keep smiling.

"Everyone please stay calm—"

But William had already stood up slightly from his chair, scanning the crowd.

Est tugged his sleeve.

"What's happening?"

William's eyes were focused toward the front rows.

"I think someone tried to push past security."

A loud shout echoed from the audience.

"MOVE!"

Several security guards rushed forward.

The fans nearby started stepping back.

Est's heart jumped.

"William…"

William immediately stepped closer to him, instinctively placing a hand lightly against Est's back.

"Stay behind me."

Est blinked.

"You're acting like we're in a movie."

William didn't laugh this time.

"I'm serious."

Another burst of movement happened near the barrier at the stage.

Security quickly surrounded someone in the crowd.

The host glanced toward the side of the stage where the manager stood.

The manager made a quick motion with his hand.

End the event. Now.

The host nodded slightly.

"Alright everyone, we're going to pause the Q&A for a moment while security handles something in the audience."

Fans started murmuring nervously.

William leaned down toward Est.

"Let's go backstage."

Est nodded quickly.

"Yeah."

But just as they started walking toward the side exit

The crowd suddenly surged forward again.

It wasn't dangerous yet, but the excitement and panic mixed together made it chaotic.

Fans near the stage shouted:

"WILLIAM!"

"EST!"

Phones lifted everywhere.

Security rushed up the stairs to escort them.

William instinctively reached for Est's hand again and held it tightly.

"Stay with me."

Est squeezed back.

"I'm right here."

They moved quickly toward the backstage curtain as staff cleared a path.

Fans were still shouting their names, but the mood had completely changed.

Less celebration.

More concern.

As soon as they passed behind the curtain—

The noise of the hall became muffled.

Backstage staff were already rushing around.

Their manager approached immediately.

"Are you both okay?"

Est nodded.

"I think so."

William looked toward the hallway leading to the dressing rooms.

"What happened out there?"

The manager sighed.

"Someone tried to rush the stage."

Est's eyes widened.

"Seriously?"

"Security stopped them before they got close," the manager reassured.

William's jaw tightened slightly.

Est noticed immediately.

"Hey."

William looked at him.

"You're okay," Est said softly.

William exhaled slowly.

"Yeah."

But he didn't let go of Est's hand.

Not yet.

Their manager noticed the tension.

"Don't worry," he said. "The person's already been escorted out."

Est nodded.

"Good."

William finally relaxed a little.

But when he looked at Est again, his expression softened.

"You scared me."

Est blinked.

"…me?"

William nodded.

"When the crowd moved like that."

Est smiled gently.

"I'm fine."

William looked at their hands.

Still intertwined.

Then back at him.

"Yeah."

For a moment neither of them moved.

The hallway around them was still busy with staff and security talking urgently.

But in that small space between them—

Everything felt quiet again.

Est nudged him lightly.

"You can let go now."

William glanced down at their hands.

"…do you want me to?"

Est hesitated.

Then shook his head with a small smile.

"…not yet."

William's lips curved slightly.

Just then, their manager returned with a relieved expression.

"Good news."

They both looked up.

"The situation's under control."

Est exhaled.

"So the event's not canceled?"

The manager shook his head.

"Actually…"

He smiled slightly.

"The fans are chanting for you to come back."

From the distant convention hall, muffled through the walls—

They could hear it.

Thousands of voices shouting together.

"WILLIAMEST! WILLIAMEST! WILLIAMEST!"

Est laughed softly.

"They're not giving up."

William looked at him.

"Neither are we."

Est raised an eyebrow.

"You want to go back out there?"

William smiled.

"With you?"

He squeezed Est's hand again.

"Always."

Est felt his heart race slightly.

"…okay."

The manager sighed dramatically.

"You two are unbelievable."

But five minutes later—

The stage lights turned back on.

And the crowd went absolutely wild again.

Because William and Est were walking back out together.

When William and Est stepped back onto the stage, the sound that erupted from the crowd was almost deafening.

Fans jumped to their feet again, waving banners and lightsticks.

"WILLIAMEST! WILLIAMEST! WILLIAMEST!"

Est laughed nervously as he walked beside William.

"They're louder than before."

William glanced at him.

"They missed us."

The host rushed back onto the stage with a dramatic sigh of relief.

"I'm so glad you're both okay!"

The audience cheered again.

Est nodded politely.

"Everything's fine. Thank you for being patient."

William added,

"And thank you to security for handling everything quickly."

The crowd applauded.

The host clapped her hands once.

"Well! Since things got a little dramatic earlier, we're going to take one final fan question before we wrap up today's event."

The audience immediately quieted.

A final fan stepped up to the microphone.

She looked both excited and emotional.

"Hi… thank you for coming today."

William smiled warmly.

"Thank you for being here."

She took a deep breath.

"My question is simple."

The hall waited.

"What is your favorite thing about working together?"

Est glanced sideways at William.

William gestured toward him.

"You first."

Est sighed dramatically.

"Why me?"

The crowd laughed.

Est thought for a moment.

Then he said honestly,

"…I never feel alone when we're filming."

The audience softened immediately.

Est continued,

"Acting can be stressful. There's pressure, long hours, a lot of expectations."

He looked at William.

"But whenever we're working together… it feels easier."

William watched him quietly.

Est smiled.

"He makes everything less scary."

The crowd let out soft "awwws."

The host looked touched.

"That's beautiful."

Then she turned to William.

"And you?"

William leaned slightly toward the microphone.

"My favorite thing?"

He glanced at Est.

Then answered simply.

"He trusts me."

Est blinked.

William continued calmly,

"That's not something you get easily in this industry."

The room was completely quiet again.

"But when we act together… I know he'll meet me halfway."

Est smiled softly.

William finished,

"And that makes every scene better."

The audience burst into applause.

Some fans were wiping tears.

The host laughed gently.

"Well… I think that was the perfect way to end."

She turned toward the audience.

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining us today for this unforgettable fan meeting!"

Fans screamed again.

William and Est stood up from their seats and waved.

But the crowd wasn't finished yet.

The chanting started again.

"KISS! KISS! KISS!"

Est immediately shook his head.

"Nope."

William laughed.

The host grinned mischievously.

"Well… I can't control the audience."

Est pointed at her.

"You're encouraging them."

The crowd kept chanting louder.

William leaned toward Est and whispered,

"One last time?"

Est groaned quietly.

"You're impossible."

William smiled.

"But you like me."

Est rolled his eyes… but his smile gave him away.

"Fine."

The audience held their breath.

But instead of another kiss—

Est suddenly wrapped William in a quick, tight hug.

The crowd exploded.

William laughed softly, surprised, before hugging him back.

The moment felt warm and genuine.

Not dramatic.

Not staged.

Just real.

After a few seconds, they stepped apart again.

Est rubbed the back of his neck shyly.

"That's all you're getting today."

The fans cheered anyway.

William leaned into the microphone one last time.

"Thank you for supporting us."

Est nodded.

"We really mean it."

The host lifted her microphone.

"Give them one more round of applause!"

The convention hall thundered with clapping and cheers.

William and Est bowed together.

And as the stage lights slowly dimmed…

The interview — and the unforgettable fan event —

finally came to an end.
