Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

The morning light filtered through the small cabin windows, illuminating the cozy, rustic kitchen. The smell of fresh coffee mingled with the crisp scent of the forest outside. Birds chirped faintly in the distance, and the soft ripple of the lake could be heard from the open window.

William moved around the small kitchen, pulling mugs from the cupboard and pouring steaming coffee. The warmth of the mug in his hands seemed to mirror the warmth he felt being so close to Est.

Est grabbed a mug and leaned against the counter, watching William move around, gathering coffee and breakfast items.

"You're way too domestic," Est teased, a sly smile on his face.

William glanced over his shoulder, smirk widening. "And you love it."

Est rolled his eyes but couldn't hide the soft laugh that escaped him. "Maybe I do."

A sudden buzz interrupted the quiet. William's phone vibrated sharply on the counter.

He frowned, glancing down. "Huh…"

Est leaned over slightly to see the screen. His stomach sank. "What is it?"

William's eyes narrowed as he scrolled. "Someone's posted a location hint about the cabin… somehow figured out we're here."

Est groaned dramatically, slumping against the counter. "Seriously? Even here?"

William's jaw tightened. Protective instincts flared. "They're not coming anywhere near us. I'll handle it if they try."

Est reached for William's hand, holding it gently. "You don't have to."

William looked down at their fingers intertwined and smiled softly, brushing his thumb across Est's knuckles. "I want to."

They moved closer together, standing just inches apart as William handed him a mug. Their fingers brushed, lingering, neither letting go immediately.

"You're addictive," Est whispered, his lips close to William's ear.

William caught his gaze, the smirk softening into something warmer. "You make me feel the same way."

They laughed softly together, the kind of laughter that only exists when the world outside doesn't matter.

Est sipped his coffee slowly, glancing up at William. "You know… we could just… stay here forever."

William set down a plate of toast, leaning against the counter beside him. "I wouldn't complain."

Est's eyes flicked to his, playful but filled with something deeper. "You think we'd survive without fans or managers watching?"

William chuckled, shrugging. "I think we'd finally have time to be ourselves. And maybe… we'd finally admit exactly how badly we want each other."

Est's lips curved into a smile, his heart racing at the insinuation. "Careful. You're dangerously suggestive before coffee."

William leaned a little closer, lowering his voice. "And you like it."

Est didn't pull away. Instead, he leaned into William's warmth, their faces close. "Maybe I do," he admitted softly.

William pressed a gentle kiss to the corner of Est's mouth, teasing, lingering, just enough to make Est shiver.

"You're impossible," Est murmured.

William's smile was tender. "And you love it."

They ate slowly, savoring the quiet intimacy. The world outside the cabin didn't exist—just the smell of coffee, the soft rustle of blankets from the bed, and the electricity of being so close.

At one point, William brushed a hand down Est's back, eliciting a soft laugh. Est leaned into it, resting his head against William's shoulder.

"You know," Est said, his voice quiet but full of feeling, "last night… and this morning… it feels like I could get used to being just us."

William pressed a soft kiss to the top of Est's hair. "Then let's make sure we have as many mornings like this as possible."

Est smiled, closing his eyes briefly. "I like that idea."

And so they stayed—close, teasing, whispering little confessions, soft touches, and lingering kisses—knowing the cabin, the lake, and the quiet morning belonged entirely to them.

....

The cabin was bathed in soft sunlight. The lake glimmered like liquid sapphire, calm and serene, stretching into the distance. William and Est had agreed: today was for themselves. Just the two of them, and the world waiting quietly beyond the trees.

Est was already at the water's edge, tossing pebbles into the lake, when William emerged from the cabin, towel over his shoulder, hair still damp from a morning swim.

"You're late," Est called, smirking.

"I could say the same about you," William replied, eyes glinting with mischief.

Est laughed, dipping a foot into the cool water. "You wouldn't last five minutes in these freezing waves."

William crouched near him, leaning close. "Careful. I think you secretly like when I tease you."

Est's cheeks warmed, but he didn't move away. "Maybe I do," he said softly, eyes locking with William's.

The air between them crackled, playful and electric. William reached out suddenly and splashed water toward Est.

Est shrieked, laughing, and retaliated with a splash of his own. Soon they were chasing each other along the shore, soaked and laughing, their hands brushing as often as they collided, hearts racing with excitement—and something deeper.

After the playful splashing, they found a small wooden rowboat tied to the dock. William helped Est in first, his hands lingering longer than necessary on Est's waist as he steadied him.

"Careful," William murmured, voice low, his eyes darkening slightly with desire. "I might not let go."

Est shivered under the touch but smiled. "Good. I like that idea."

They rowed quietly into the middle of the lake, the water lapping gently against the boat's hull. The world seemed impossibly quiet, the soft rustle of leaves from the shore the only sound beyond their own breathing.

William rested an arm along the back of the boat, brushing his fingers over Est's hand. "It's beautiful out here," he whispered.

Est leaned against his shoulder, eyes closed. "Not as beautiful as this," he murmured, voice low, meaning William.

William pressed a soft kiss to the top of Est's head. "I could get used to this," he said, his words lingering like a promise.

By mid-afternoon, they had returned to the cabin, still dripping from the lake. William helped Est out of the damp clothes, teasing him about how dramatic he looked shivering, but his fingers lingered on Est's skin just long enough to make him shiver again.

Est leaned against the doorway, playful defiance in his eyes. "You think you can keep teasing me all day?"

William smiled, leaning close, their faces inches apart. "I don't think—I know."

Est felt his pulse quicken. Every look, every brush of fingers, every whispered word carried heat that had been simmering since the morning. He let himself lean closer, the warmth of William's body brushing his own, the smell of the lake and sunlight and William's skin filling him with a dizzying comfort.

"You're impossible," Est breathed, voice husky.

"And you love it," William replied, lips brushing over Est's ear, teasing, lingering, sending shivers down his spine.

They moved through the cabin slowly, laughing softly between kisses, hands tracing over shoulders and backs in gentle exploration. Every touch was electric, a private thrill, every glance heavy with unspoken desire.

When they finally paused, pressed against each other in the quiet of the bedroom, the firelight flickering over their skin, William rested his forehead against Est's. "I want you… just like this. Just us."

Est closed his eyes, heart hammering, and whispered, "I've wanted this forever."

They kissed again—slow, lingering, full of promise and heat—every brush of lips and fingers a testament to their connection, their trust, and their love.

The world outside didn't exist. Only William, only Est, only the heat and tenderness of being completely, unapologetically themselves.

....

As the sun dipped low, painting the sky in brilliant hues of orange, pink, and purple, William and Est made their way back to the dock. The wooden planks were warm from the late afternoon sun, and the soft lapping of the lake against the posts created a gentle rhythm, like a private heartbeat for them alone.

Est leaned lightly against William as they sat together, legs dangling just above the water. His fingers twined naturally with William's, and neither moved to pull away.

"Est," William said softly, his voice quiet but serious, carrying weight beyond the playful teasing they'd shared all day. "I know we have to be careful… with the fans, with our image. But I need you to know something."

Est's eyes lifted to meet his, curiosity and anticipation mingling in their depths. "What?"

William took a slow breath, the fading sunlight glinting off his eyes like firelight. "I don't just like you. I… I really love you."

Est's breath hitched softly, his eyes widening slightly before they softened into something tender and vulnerable. "William…"

Without thinking, he leaned closer, resting his forehead against William's. The simple contact felt electric, yet grounding. "I love you too. I have for a long time," he whispered, voice trembling just enough to convey the depth of his feelings.

William smiled, brushing their noses together gently, feeling the warmth and softness of Est's face. "Good. Because I don't plan on letting anyone or anything come between us."

A quiet laugh escaped Est's lips, soft and intimate. "Then we're really screwed. I'm the same way."

For a long moment, they just held each other close, wrapped in the quiet of the evening, the shimmering lake reflecting the colors of the sunset like liquid fire. Their hands intertwined, their legs brushed lightly, their breaths mingled.

The cabin was quiet now. The only sounds were the gentle lapping of the lake and the occasional rustle of leaves outside.

William and Est were wrapped in a blanket on the dock, their legs dangling over the water.

Est leaned his head on William's shoulder. "I never thought it could feel this… perfect," he whispered.

William tilted his head, brushing his lips softly against the top of Est's hair. "I've wanted this for so long," he murmured. "Just being close to you. No cameras, no scripts, no chaos."

Est lifted his gaze to meet William's. Their eyes held each other's for a long moment, the world shrinking around them.

"I… I don't want this night to end," Est admitted, his voice soft, almost breathless.

William smiled gently, cupping Est's face in his hands. "Then it won't. Not yet."

He leaned in slowly, capturing Est's lips in a long, tender kiss. It wasn't hurried—it was filled with every unspoken feeling they had held back for months: longing, love, and trust.

Est responded softly, wrapping his arms around William's neck. The blanket slipped slightly, but neither cared.

When they finally pulled back, their foreheads rested together. Est's lips curved into a shy smile. "You make everything feel… safe."

William brushed a thumb across Est's cheek. "You make me want to protect everything about you."

They stayed like that for a while, holding each other, whispering small, silly things, and laughing quietly at inside jokes.

The stars above reflected on the lake, glittering like tiny reminders that some moments were meant only for them.

"Promise me something?" Est whispered.

"Anything."

"That we'll always find nights like this… even when the world gets loud."

William kissed the top of his head again. "I promise. Always."

For the rest of the night, they stayed close, wrapped in warmth and love, letting the silence and the stars speak for them.

It was the kind of quiet intimacy that didn't need words—only presence. Every small gesture, every brush of a hand or shoulder, felt like a promise that neither of them would ever let go.

Est tilted his head back, eyes on the sky. "For once… nothing else matters."

William's lips pressed to the top of his head, holding him a little closer. "Just us," he murmured.
