"Lose my memories?"
It seems Ms. Liliana has the wrong idea. Well, judging from her perspective, she might think I'm crazy.
She said the original owner of this body, Lavi, fell into a coma for a week. And coincidentally, I transmigrated into his body.
Could that mean the original owner of this body is dead?
"Lavi, please take a seat. This is worse than I thought," Liliana said.
There was a hint of panic on her face, but she still seemed composed while dealing with the situation. Or at least, she was trying to be composed.
"It's okay… it's okay…" Liliana continued.
She held her breath once more, trying to steady herself.
"Lavi, can you please sit down? I just want to check on you."
Liliana pulled open the wide drapes, revealing the room next to us.
I could see a medium-sized room in front of me, a clean comfortable white-ish operation room.
The walls inside were pure white. even though they were clearly made of wood, The material was flawlessly smooth—you couldn't even tell the difference from a cemented wall back in my world.
The trees here must be different, I thought to myself.
In the center of the room were two gray foldable chairs occupying most of the space, similar to a dentist's reclining chair, complete with armrests on both sides.
At the back of the room stood a huge dark-gray cupboard filled with medicinal ingredients—some I recognized, some I didn't. Definitely not something from Earth.
I sensed an eerily mystical fragrance coming from it. Matter of fact, the entire room carried a calming yet unfamiliar scent, unlike the rest of the cabin.
Could it be from the flowers?
There was a wide white desk near the chairs, decorated with flower vases placed neatly beside medical equipment.
The room was complete with a water dispenser and a sink on the right side, both crystal clear—implying the clinic's cleanliness and water purity.
"Here, please sit down in this patient chair. Wait while I grab the equipment."
She pointed to one of the foldable chairs meant for patients.
Seeing her serious expression, I decided to follow along for now.
As a matter of fact, it was probably best to check my physical condition—and this body's condition too—considering the original Lavi had been in a coma for a week.
"Okay, I'll do it, Ms. Lily."
"Thank you. And please refer to me as Lily from now on."
"Okay… Lily."
I sat down, half-lying on the foldable clinic chair while waiting for her.
I watched as Lily prepared for the checkup. She wore a medical coat, glasses, and had a small flashlight and a stethoscope ready.
She sat down on a black plastic chair right beside me—very close to my right arm.
On my left side was another foldable chair, and further to the left was the sink.
"Okay, Lavi. I'm going to do some tests to check your condition."
"First, let's check your senses."
"I'm going to start with your eyesight."
Liliana turned on the flashlight. It emitted a dim beam—soft, but bright enough to see clearly in the dark.
She pointed the light into my right eye while holding my eyelid open with her left hand.
The beam shone directly into my eye, and Liliana wore a focused expression, as if verifying something important.
She turned off the flashlight.
"Okay. Your pupil reaction is normal."
"Any problems with your hearing or sense of smell?"
"No, Lily. Nothing feels weird."
"Alright, let's check your temperature now."
Liliana placed her hand on my forehead—and suddenly stiffened.
"What? This is cold. Way too cold for a normal human."
There was a clear hint of panic on her face.
"Wait here."
She quickly walked away and grabbed a device similar to a thermometer.
"Here, put this in your mouth. I've already cleaned it."
She gently placed it between my lips.
After about forty seconds, she pulled it out and read the device in her hand.
"Oh no… this is bad."
What? What's bad? Is my temperature dangerous?
"This is far too cold for a normal person."
"Lavi, I need you to—"
Ring… ring… ring…
The bell in the clinic suddenly rang.
