Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

I'm still in this cabin, wondering if this is a dream or not. This is such a dangerous situation for someone like me who never read the book in the first place. It's not like I don't like the book—I just wanted to prioritize my studies. And it's not like I expected to be magically transported into a mystical world.

How am I going to survive in this world if I don't know anything about it? As a matter of fact, how am I going to go home?

Should I just ask this woman?

She doesn't seem to have any malice or bad intentions, and she's probably an acquaintance of this Lavi guy.

"Excuse me, ma'am. I know this sounds weird, but I'm not from this world. I transmigrated from another world, and I really need to go back to my own world."

The woman stood there with a confused expression on her face.

"Lavi, what? Are you okay in the head?"

"Ma'am, I don't know who this Lavi guy is."

Suddenly, the bell in the clinic rang.

Ring… ring… ring…

"Sorry, we're very busy right now. Please come again later."

The older woman spoke softly.

After a few seconds of silence, the woman in front of me continued talking.

"Lavi, let me check on you first. I have to ma—"

The wooden door started shaking as it was knocked again.

"Ms. Lililiana, it's me, Rodrick. I have a problem with my teeth!"

"Mr. Rodrick, your dental issue isn't that serious. You can come back for your normal checkup later. I'm sorry, we're very busy right now—" Lililiana said calmly.

"Okay, sorry to bother you, miss."

Lililiana turned her head toward me. She had a rather stern look on her face. There was a hint of anger in her eyes.

"Ma'am, I need you to understand. I'm not Lavi. I'm a person from another world."

"Lavi, what happened to you, my friend? You're talking nonsense. Ever since you woke up, you've been acting weird."

"Let me check you first. You've been asleep for a long time."

Asleep? Now that I think about it, she said I woke up. Was the real Lavi in a coma?

"Ma'am, pardon me if this confuses you, but what do you mean I've been asleep for a long time? As I said, I'm not Lavi."

"Lavi, you keep talking strangely. I really need to check on you."

"And yes, you've been asleep for more than a week," the woman added.

More than a week? That sounds like a huge problem. No wonder she seems so worried.

"Ma'am, I really need you to listen to me. I'm from another world, and I need to get back as soon as possible. Please believe me…"

The woman show a strange expression on her face.

"Lavi, what are you talking about? And stop calling me ma'am. Call me Lily like usual."

She placed her hand on my forehead and looked at me with her maroon-ish eyes.

My face quickly turned red, and I immediately jumped backward.

Still blushing, I raised my hands into a guard stance.

"What are you doing, you suspicious woman?!"

"What? I'm checking on you, you rascal!" she said with a pissed expression.

"Lavi, this is for your own good."

She tried to grab my right hand.

I instantly dodged to the left, almost hitting an ornament in the clinic.

"Get back here and stop resisting!" she shouted as she stepped forward to catch me.

I dodged again in another direction. Now I was far away from the door I entered through, making it harder to escape.

"Ma'am, I'm not Lavi! I don't know how, but I was transported from Earth to this place!"

"What are you talking about, Lavi? This is still Earth! You're making me even more worried. And stop calling me ma'am!"

"I don't know who Lavi is. I don't know what clinic this is. And I don't know who you are either, lady!"

The woman stayed silent for a few seconds.

She had a sad look on her face.

"This is bad, Lavi," she muttered.

"You've lost your memories."
